Question about Brother MFC-7820N Laser Printer
Problems with Brother MFC-7820N Laser Printer will not turn on, it gets to light up, the display says please wait, sounds like it's booting up then turns itself off again. Any ideas on how to reset it? I have this exact same problem with the same model, MFC-7820N fax copy scanner. power on, LCD says "please wait" for approx 10 seconds fan comes on for about 1/2 second, unit powers off on its own, cycle repeats endlessly. My problem started the exact same day as info90873 may 29 2009, that is more than a little strange. My guess is some kind of hardware failure or is in the process of failing, Since the dates are the same windows update comes to mind but these devices don't get updates do they?

The 7820N prints double-sided manually using the drivers. From Windows, select File / Print. On the pop-up window, click on Preferences, select the Advanced tab, click on the A/B pages icon, and select Manual Duplex. "OK" your way out. When you print, you'll first confirm to print one side of all pages. Then follow the instructions that appear.

I just had same issue, it shared an outlet with a large volume work group copier, I unplugged it, opened and closed all compartments to make sure something open was not causing issues. I plugged it into different outlet and it appears to be back online. I have read some postings that this model has been known to draw over 15 amps. Its possible its starving for power. To test take to another room, plug in outlet by itself and see if it boots up.

Hello and welcome to Fixya..
If you havent already, try cleaning both the scan tray, and the glass.
That is usually the culprit ..
Also, look at the glass, sometimes over long term use, a slight condensation can form that distorts scans..
Feel free to add a comment if none of this works for you!
