Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printing problems with HP officejet 7310

My HP OfficeJet 7310 worked fine with XP. When I bought a new Vista computer, that's when the printing problems started. It works fine when printing from Word but whenever I try to print a photo, regardless of the application I use, the print has streaks and sometimes it stalls in the middle of printing. I know it's not a mechanical problem since it prints fine when I print directly from a memory card. I've been through tech support from hp. I've done everything they've suggested, including downloading new drivers. Anyone else have this problem? I CONSTANTLY have to Reinstall my driver because the HP Solution Center cannot recognize any HP product on my computer - Cannot scan, only print...(sometimes)

You actually have to get the HP drivers uninstalled and then go through the registry to delete all instances of HP and then reinstall drivers ,making sure you have the drivers for Vista and not XP. For going through the registry you must know what you are doing. I can assist.

Click Start and then go to Printers and Faxes (XP), Printers(Vista), Devices and Printers(Win 7)
1. Right Click on your printer Icon 2. Go to Printing Preferences 3. Click the Features Tab 4. At the bottom of the window you will see Printer Services or Device Services. Click on it. 5. Choose Align Printheads on the list.

HP OfficeJet 7310 wireless hookup. Can print over the wireless network, but can use scan or other functions. Worked previously but had to uninstall printer and reinstall. can't remeber wht I did do get...


If this problem arises check for updated printer drivers, compatibility between your wireless printer and Windows Vista and firewall settings. All or any of this could prevent your HP wireless printer from printing documents. Setting up wireless printers is very easy; however, sometimes certain settings can create hassles for you.

HP Officejet 7310 printing problem


Make sure you check the HP support site, there have been extra updates and new driver packages for windows xp that has been updated with service pack 3.

Printing backwards after installing vista service


click on start > control panel > printers or printers and faxes >
right click on the printer icon and select printing preferences.
click on advance and look for mirror image
turn off mirror image and click apply.
this should work

Problems connecting to printer


The Officejet 7310 does not have wireless capability, this was a feature for the Officejet 7410. If your 7310 is connected via wired LAN to a wireless router but the computer does not find it try assigning an IP address manually. Make sure the IP address for the printer is on the same subnet as your laptop or other wireless devices.

Also, if you are using Vista the original drivers will not work, you will need to download updated drivers from HP's website here.

Unable to set prefrence to print on both sides


The only reference to a "two-sided printing module" I could find in relation to an Officejet is on the following web page at HP.com:

Two-sided Printing Overview

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything specific to Windows Vista that talks about two-sided printing, but my guess is that Vista has yet to support this function for the Officejet 5610. If XP performed two-sided printing without this physical module being installed, it may be that Vista requires it.

The only Vista related web page I found on the 5610's site at HP has to do with downloading a diagnotic software utility:

If all else fails, I'd try downloading and running the utility to see if it'll fix the issue with Vista. Post back your results here. Good luck.

HP OfficeJet R40 only prints in pink


I had 3 bad printing cartridges. I went to Staples bought a new 23 and everything is printing fine now.
