GT 9700F, scanner moves but get image transfer failed errors

I am using an Epson gt9700f scanner with the latest drivers downloaded from the Epson website. After a reformat, I did not install the drivers on a fresh install, instead, I installed everything else first. Now using XP Home SP3 Japanese and any scanning software I use comes back with "Error in image transmission" or "The scanner is busy with another task, please wait until this task is completed and then click 'preview' again". I have tried reconnecting to different USB ports, turning the scanner on and off, restarting the PC. Reinstalling the full scanner software that came with it and downloading the latest updates direct from the manufacturer yet none of these seem to work. This is irrespective of what I try to scan - paper, photos, film, nothing works. The scanner itself when told to scan/preview slides the illuminated scanning bar from one end to the other and back just like it does when it works properly.

Unfortunately it has to be run on this setup. Installing the scanner on a fresh install works fine and then upgrading service pack. However, this time I omitted installing the scanner before installing the service packs. Result, on Win XP SP3 tuned to my preferences, it doesn't work.Reinstalling Windows for just the scanner seems a bit of overkill in my opinion so I am sure there should be something more efficient out there.
    Thanks for trying though.

Try a different copy of OS or in a Different M/C.

This is purely a Win XP issue. Use a Single Different HDD and carry out the same procedure as you liked. May be Win XP is reading its old Config / Registry data from some where else in the other partitions.

We would like to connect our Epson GT-15000 scanner to our new Imac 29inch. Although we do have the scanner connected to a G5, we seem not to have any sfotware for Mac, only the Windows CD. Where can we...

No additional drivers are necessary. Your Epson GT-15000 is listed in "Printer and Scanner software available for download,"http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 .

To add your scanner, simply plug it in. If it does not appear in Apple Menu > System Preferences > Print & Scan, you may need to run Software Update (also from the Apple Menu, second item down), and then click the plus ( + ) button in the lower-left of Print & Scan, select your scanner, and then add the printer.

The default scanning application in OS X is Image Capture. After completing the above steps, open Applications > Image Capture and you should see your scanner listed on the left.

My scanner doesn't communicate with my computer but my printer does

Hi, there are many possibilities why your scanner is undetected by your computer. It can be its logical connection, scanner driver or the scanner itself.

If you have Windows operating system, please check Device Manager. In the Device Manager please check for the following:
1. Any yellow or red X's, question marks or exclamation marks related to the scanner.
2. Under the Category of Imaging Devices - Check for Epson Product name.

If IMAGING DEVICES is listed, test the scanner from PAINT as follows.
If IMAGING DEVICES is not listed then the scanner is not being recognized. Try another USB port or cable until the scanner shows up in the Device Manager. (The scanner must be on and connected in order for the computer to recognize it)
If you see an Imaging Device that points to your Epson Scanner or Unknown Device that has a yellow question mark or exclamation point, you need to update the driver.

Try to scan in Paint to isolate the issue between your computer and scanner.
To scan in Paint, do the following:

1. Click on START > ALL PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > PAINT.
2. Click on FILE then select FROM SCANNER OR CAMERA.
3. Choose COLOR PICTURE.
4. Scan.

If it does not work, it is possible your Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service is not started.

To restart this process please follow the steps listed bellow.

1. Click on Start > Control Panel > Administrative tools
2. Double-click on Services to access the list of available services.
3. In the Services window scroll down to the bottom and double-click on the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service.
4. Select the STOP option.
5. Click the START option to restore the service.
6. Try scanning again into Paint.

If it scans fine, try scanning from the application that you normally use. If you are still unable to scan or receive any error messages, try reinstalling the scanner driver or software.

If you have Macintosh operating system, please check Apple System Profiler if your scanner is properly detected. The reinstall the scanner driver.

If your scanner is still undetected, please contact your scanner manufacturer for any possible driver updates.

Looking for a driver for epson gt 7000 scanner for windows 7.thanks

I do not see this scanner on the Epson support site. They may not have a Win7 driver. You could try an XP driver in the compatability mode (right click on the driver and select Properties and the Compatability tab. Check the box next to Run in compatability mode) You can download a driver from a site like this one, http://download.cnet.com/EPSON-GT-7000/3000-2118_4-73143.html .

Another possibility is available in Win7 Pro and Ultimate. Download and install the XP mode from Microsoft. Install the scanner in the virtual XP computer. You may need to save files to external media to transfer them between the two computers.

I hope this helps.

Can someone advise if the Epson GT-7000 scanner which I had working in XP can be made to work in Windows 7 or is it time to throw out my faithful machine? Rodney.

I got mine working on Windows 7 (x64) by doing the following:
1. Download the Windows 7 Epson Scan driver for the Perfection 2400 from the epson site 2. Install the drivers 3. In Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator 4. In Notepad File->Open and browse for the es27.inf file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\epson\escndv\es0027 5. On line 51, 54, and 57 replace PID_011B with PID_0101 6. Save the file. 7. Connect and turn on the scanner. 8. In Device Manager (Start Menu, right-click Computer, select Properties, Device Manager) right-click the scanner and select Update Driver Software->Browse my computer for driver software 9. Select the location of the modified INF file (C:\Program Files (x86)\epson\escndv\es0027 Include subfolders checked). 10. Say ok to the window that pops up and it should start installing the drivers.
In Photoshop you should then be able to import using WIA-Epson Perfection 2400 (importing with Epson Perfection 2400 causes Photoshop to freeze)
I hope that works for you :)

<< In order for you to scan images or txt doc's from the scanner unit or all in one printers., You will an application to do that >>

> For Epson All in one printers you can use the application that came with the cd driver called
( Epson Scan ) or you can download it from the Epson Website.

try this link >> http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=-10582&infoType=Overview

You need to select the model of your printer ( click on it ) < Drivers and Downloads >
choose your operating system and download the ( Twain Driver and Epson Scan Utility )

> If Epson Scan is already installed to your computer., Launch or open Epson Scan and on the upper
right corner of the window there are mode options you can choose from ( Home Mode., Professional Mode., etc ) you may want to use "Home Mode" its user friendly,

here's the link for the "user's guide" >> http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Doc&oid=90342&prodoid=63069506&category=Products

> If you have a windows system you might try using "MS PAINT" its a windows based application.

Click on Start / All Programs / Accessories., and look for "Paint" ( click on it )
on the Paint Window click on File and then click on From Scanner or Camera., just follow the step

EPSON CX3810 "scan cannot be started" error I have this error when I try to use the scanner. I updated the Twain driver for Epson and it still happens. For some reason this Epson works for my brother's...

I suggest scan from MS Paint first - if this works proceed to step 1, if not, proceed to step2.
Step1, check device manager - update driver.
Step2, check if there are other scanner installed or software installed under C:Windows/twain_32 folder. Delete any files there except for wiatwain.ds and folders that has "e" at the beggining. Re launched Epson Scan. If it fails check step3.
Step3, trash and reinstall driver, you can download the driver for this on the epson site, www.epson.com, select your regio of course, go to drivers and support, select your product and select the appropriate system that your using.
Step4, Optional step, on the properties of Epson Scan (you'll see this if you right click Epson Scan icon), make sure that the compatibility corresponds to your system, you'll see a check box there that says "Run with..."
If this steps fails, perform registry adjustment by removing Epson Scan software under the HKEY_CURRENT USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, reinstall software again.
