Hi im getting the pxe-e61 media test failure check cable for a toshiba a350 i have gone into the bios and disabled the lan and put my hdd is slot 1 followed my my cdrom i bought a new harddrive but...

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard diskhas failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files, this confirms the hard drive is faulty.Thenthe hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installedand the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get afunctioning computer/laptop again.

Laptop says no operating system found wot do i do as its a samsung notebook

Hi,

Check if the harddrive is detected in BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) setup by pressing F2..or F12 (depends on what key is designed for the BIOS setup).

- If the harddrive is detected in the BIOS (usually shows the harddrive name or values beside "Drive 0"), your operating system is corrupted. You need an operating system disc to install it.

- If the harddrive is not detected in the BIOS ( no value beside "Drive 0"), either the harddrive cable is loose, the harddrive is not inserted properly or is defective. Check the harddrive compartment at the bottom of the laptop and use screw driver to reveal it. Try to reinsert it or use a good known hard drive.

Hope this helps.

Lap top can't find hard drive

Hi,

Here are some steps that you can try.

- Check if the harddrive is recognized in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System). Normally you will see values beside "Drive 0" at the first page if the harddrive is detected. If it says none or blank, then it is not detected. Reload BIOS default settings and try to boot up the unit to see if it will pick up the harddrive.
- If the harddrive is not detected in the BIOS, you need to unscrew the harddrive compartment at the bottom of the laptop.
- Reinsert the harddrive and check harddrive cable. Also try to use a good known harddrive if yours is defective.

Hope this helps.

Why does my laptop say system operator missing

System operating missing means that your laptop cannot find a operating system to start. This could be that your hard drive have crashed or overheated or the laptop is not detecting your harddrive. You might want to go into your bios menu and see if the bios is detecting your harddrive, and if it is not, it could be that your hard drive is bad. The only way to test this out is to take your harddrive and connect it to another computer to see if it is working. If it is working then there could be a loose connection between the hard drive and the laptop. If the bios detect your harddrive, then that means your operating system is currupted and needs to be fix or reinstall.

My lacie hard drive turnes on ,shows that its running, stops running and keeps showing pink light but does not show appearance on my laptop,

Right click "My Computer" and select Manage. In the window, select Disk Management on the left column. If the drive is not listed on the right column, then the BIOS has not detected the harddrive - it might have a harddrive password lock. You will need to go into the BIOS and unlock it with the password.

N800v harddrive blew out

It depends upon your needs, the larger the hard drive to higher the cost and the maximun size you can install depends upon the BIOS. The smallest hard drive that is readily available is about 100Gb.
