Light is blinking, doesnt print, it prints before but now it doesnt. appears online and ready on the computer.

The light on the power button is blinking, the printer doesnt print at all. it appears online and ready, the printing jobs are queued and it says "printing" but nothing happens. i tried to remove each cartridge but still it didnt work. the thing is we already did a print test the day it was installed which was a few days ago and it worked. could it be the port? it was connected to the usb port the first time i tried to print, and the second time i changed it to "lpt 1" according to the troubleshooting instructions. but nothing still.

If the port had been changed to LPT1 the printer will not work.

LPT1 is the large parallel port, while you are using USB on this printer.

the red light came on probably because of a jam , or because of one of the documents in the printer cue.

The easiest thing to do is

Unplug printer usb.
Go to control panel>installed printer.
Delete all the instances of this printer from there and chose to delete drivers if asked.
Reistall the printer using the printer disk, plug in printer data cable only when asked by setup wizard.

If you have a different USB cable, also use it, just in case.

If that does not fix the problem , then there is an internal fault in the printer.

Regards.

I just change the ink cartage and now see the power button and stop button light blinking

If the power button LED blinks - you must understand it is not ready. You must power off the printer - restart the computer. Clear the pending printings from printer buffer (Start - Settings - Printers and Faxes - Choose the printer concerned - delete the pending printings). Now reset the cartridge well and perfectly. Now switch on the computer and printer. The LED will be steady. Take print out now.

Both green and orange lights blinking. Printer

Try deleting all ready to print documents, restarting the printer and then re-booting the computer. Somebody in there is confused.

If that doesn't work, check your documentation on how to print a test page, if it will print then the problem is which the application otherwise re-install the printer.

Printer mechnical error

Resolving a blinking light When an error occurs, the power light will blink continuously and an error message will appear on the computer screen. Read the onscreen error message explaining the problem and follow its solution. If no error message appears, go to the Maintenance section in the Printer Assistant and click any of the four main buttons. This will prompt the software to check the status of the printer and the error message should then appear. The following table lists possible causes and what to do to correct the problem. Symptom Possible cause What to do to correct the problem Power light is blinking Printer cover is open Close the cover. Printer is out of paper Insert appropriate media in the In tray. When the problem is corrected and the top cover is closed, the light will stop blinking. Troubleshooting blinking printer lights Blinking lights Reason c00123895.jpg

All lights are off. The printer is off (asleep).

Press the POWER buttonc00123886.jpg to turn the printer on.

The printer should turn on automatically when a print job is sent to it. c00123898.jpg

The POWER (top) light is on. The printer is idle.

The printer is ready to print a document. c00123900.jpg

The POWER (top) light is blinking. The printer is busy printing.

Allow enough time to print. When a document has many fonts or graphics or uses complex color such as a color photo, it takes longer to begin printing. c00123902.jpg

The PRINT CARTRIDGE (bottom) light is blinking. Possible causes:

  • The front cover is open. Make sure the front cover is completely closed.
  • The print cartridge is missing. Make sure the print cartridge has been installed correctly.
  • The print cartridge is broken or incompatible. Lift the front cover, and wait for the print-cartridge cradle to slide out. Check the part numbers on the print cartridge:

Black: 51645A

Color: C1823D,

If the print cartridges are compatible and correctly installed, they may be defective. Try replacing the print cartridges.

If none of the above suggestions fix the problem, and, if the error message still occurs, it may be a hardware failure. Call the HP Customer Support Center.

Canon s400 doesnt print only blinks eight times

The tank is situated on the RHS.
The Print Head rests there when not in use.
Open the flap to expose the Print Head, slide the Print head across to the left.
On the area where the Print head rests, there is a black plastic square of plastic which contains 2 narrow vertically positioned ink pads. This is also spring loaded.from underneath.
The pad on the left is for BLACK the other Color.
These become saturated with ink during the cleaning process.
I suspect the Print Head has a built in sensor to detect overloaded waste tank.
The pad can be removed this by hooking it out, sideways.
Unless the pads are leaking ink everywhere I wouldn't remove it.
Use Cotton Buds to soak up the excess ink. I used about 15.

Then.....
Turn off printer
Hold down RESUME button and press POWER button.
Keep holding down POWER button and release RESUME button.
Press RESUME button 2 times, then release BOTH buttons.
The GREEN light will flash and stop flashing.
When the GREEN light goes out, press the RESUME button 4 times.
Press the POWER button and the printer should turn OFF
If not press the POWER button once more.

My experience was when turning the printer on at a later date the POWER and RESUME lights still flashed.
All I did was press the RESUME button and the printer operated as normal.
