IPaq rx3115 working like PC not Pocket PC, need to plugin always

I have an Ipaq rx 3115. When i got into my settings it lists my AC only has the main battery and the NIMH as the backup. It does show that my NIHM has 100% charge but it will not work when i unplug it from the AC plug in. Is there a way i can change my NIHM to the main battery and my AC to the backup. It says main battery is AC only, it never get charges. Backup battery charges to 100% but when we unplug device is without power. If we re-plug it then it reboots again, but without RAM data. We have to start every thing from scrach. To work with it we have to plug it always like PC.

You need to purchase a new removable battery for your RX
The removable batts usually only last about a year (like cell phone batteries).
Although it is showing 100% charge, the battery is not storing enough power to run the ipaq

The rx series uses 2 batteries, one is the removable one u can see/access when u remove the back cover. The other batt is a small round batt which stores the basic info for your system (so you don't lose your data when u swap out the removable battery).

This small (backup) batt is similar to the cmos battery on a laptop or pc.
You cannot easily replace this, as the unit needs to be disassembled to access this batt.
If you are tech-y (and brave), the replacement button batteries are sold on ebay for $9-12

Normally, if your removable batt is bad, you could still use your unit plugged in, and could
remove from AC power without losing data. Not the case if your replaceable batt is exhausted.
When both batteries are bad, you lose everything when u remove unit from AC power.

My workaround without having to disassemble unit:
Purchase and fully charge new removable batt (They have huge capacity ones available for like $15 - better than the original !).
Load up all your programs & settings the way you like.
Perform full backup to SD card (& also on PC via active sync - to be safe)
Now the only time you should lose your data (like hard reset) is if you allow the battery
to completely drain, in which case you can restore your backup.
If you purchase 2 removable batts, you can easily swapout without losing data if you
use the usb charge cable & leave ipaq plugged in while you change battery

Hope this helps

This happened to me and i got so mad that i broke the screen. But that was a good idea because then i got a new screen and now it works fine. Just get another screen and it should work fine. or you can just get the digitizer part and swap out your LCD parts.

Main Battery Power

It cannot switched the batteries. The backup one is a small internal battery just to keep the CMOS with data. That's it.

If you main battery is not charging or when unplugged won't power on, the is likely the main battery is defective, or the charging circuitry of it is failing.

Ipaq rx3115 doesnt turn on!

I am guessing that you have made sure that it is fully charged. If it is, since you have only had it a week I would try a hard reset. I don't know if the 3115 has them but check to make sure that any battery door lock switches are locked.

IPaq keeps moving appointment times

the ipaq automatically adjusts for daylight savings but the PC does not. On your PC double click on clock, click on Time Zone tab and then on that screen you will see the box that needs to be checked. also check that both PC and IPAQ are set to same time-zones.

Charging

If it's completely dead USB probably can't do it at all. There's a voltage threshhold, and USB only puts out about half the voltage needed to get over it. USB usually won't manage when thenbattery's below 30%. Try connecting the iPaq directly to the AC adapter.
