Limited connectivity means you didn't get an IP address. Is the router set to give addresses via DHCP, or is another PC doing that? Most common cause of this problem is wrong authentication (normally "open") or encryption type (WEP, WPA or WPA2). Pklease note that encryption keys can be set as HEX or ASCII, if they are HEX it will be only numbers 0 to 9 and letters A-F. ASCII can be anything.

I have a DG834N wirelss router, it has recently kept doping the netwrk connection both wireless and wired, the only way to overcome the problem is to reboot the router, any idea why or solutions?

Sometimes the ISP (Internet Service Provider) might have done something on their network that is causing it.

Try removing the power cord from the modem and the router. Then plug the power cord into the modem only and let it cycle up for about 2 minutes. Then plug the power cord into the router and let it cycle up.

If it still drops, then the router could be going bad.

After a good time in use a laptop cannot ''see'' the netgear wgr614 router, altho it detects other local wireless networks. Also, the cable connection informs me that there is limited or no connection....

Have you tried unplugging, and re-plugging in the router, that will soft reset it, and also at the same time, rebooting the PC? If no good, log onto the Router and check all the settings... Can you use another PC to "See" if that one can detect it OK?

How can i access my router configuration to open port 3074?

Open any web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. In the address bar, enter "192.168.0.1" and press the enter key. This will bring up the login prompt for most Netgear wireless routers. If that doesn't work, try "www.routerlogin.net", "192.168.0.5", or "10.1.10.1" until the login window appears.

Should be able to acces it from the web interface.

Dg834n lost installation disk

Please note that Router does not require installation software for its configuartion. It can be configured manually using the below steps:

1. Connect the cable/phone line coming from Internet Service Provider to the WAN port of the router(isolated port).
2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
3. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
4. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.0.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
5. Login to the router (username = admin password = password unless you have changed it).
6. Click 'setup wizard'(at the top of list) from left menu.
7. Select yes and click next.
8. It should give you a "PPPoA Detected" and then click next.
9. Enter the login and password of ISP click apply.
10. Once the settings are updated click on 'router Status' and click on 'connection status' button(at the bottom of the page).
11. Click on connect button.
12. Connecting to server should show 'connected'.
13. If you receive 'CHAP authentication failed', close the 'connection status' window and click on 'Basic settings'. Check the login and password for ISP and apply the setting again.
14. Open up another browser window and try to access internet.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Cannot connect to my Netgear WRG614 v6 router. My Dell laptop shows an excellent connection but it says limited or no conectivity???

if it says limited or no connectivity, it means that there are a couple of settings that needs to be configured for your wireless connection. click on start > run> connections> wireless connection >when you see your wireless network, try to disconnect from the network and try to connect again using the right wep key (if you have it enabled). or you can try checking the wireless properties. start > run> type in ncpa.cpl and hit enter. right click on wireless connection and click on properties. highlight tcp/ip and click on properties. make sure that the settings are set to obtain automatic. hope this one helps.
