Then when I click ( ok ) it will open my itunes window. From then on when i click on a song to start playing it will not playback the song. This problem is really annoying because I usually always listen to music when I am on my computer. Please help me with my problem. Any help will be very nice.

FIRST try the simple solutions. Check if your speaker wires are plugged into the proper ports.
If you are unsure, it won't hurt to try different configurations.
(If you hear sound from other devises such as plating a CD of the "Microsoft Sound" when starting up or shutting down, then the speakers are wired correctly.)
If this is OK then try...
Go to your "Device Manager" (Right click on  'My Computer', select 'Properties', click the 'Hardware' tab, click the 'Device Manager' button. Click the "Sound video and game controllers"). If there is some kind of a "Warning" icon superimposed on the 'speaker' icon there is your problem!
If no "Warning" icons then try...

One at a time...
Double click on each of the devises that have 'Audio' in the listings.
Click the "Properties" tab, look for any "Warning" icons
Uninstall the DRIVERS for THAT DEVICE only. See instructions below.
Click on the faulty devise and hit the remove button, follow the instructions given by the program.
Shutdown, restart, the device will automatically reinstall by the "Found New Hardware" program.

Error message when logging into ITunes and audio will not play. "Itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly." I have searched...

you should uninstall audio drivers then install the updated drivers for your audio.

then un-install iTunes and its all apple product using revo un-installer. that will ask to remove all the registry so while uninstalling the programme select all and delete them.

then download and install latest iTunes.

it will start working.

if it doesn't you can restore your computer to a previous date on which your itunes was working properly.

to do so.

click on Start >>>All Programms>>> Accessories>>System Tools>> System Restore>> Select the Date and Restore your Computer.

No sound at all..

I found several things to check about this issue.

First of all, make sure Windows Audio and Windows Management Instrumentation Services are running. Steps:
  1. Go to start -> run. If your keyboard has a ‘windows key’, which looks like the windows icon and is often located next to ctrl/alt, you can get away with pressing (and holding) this key, and tapping the ‘r’ key. I use this shortcut almost every day. On that note, windows-key+e I use even more- try it.
  2. type ’services.msc’, without the single quotes. This opens a list of the various services running on your computer.
  3. Make sure iTunes is closed.
  4. Locate “Windows Audio,” and see if it’s running. If it is, the status will show ‘Started’.
  5. No? Well guess what, iTunes needs this to be running in order to communicate with your audio device. Start it. There’s a link to start it along the leftmost column. Once it’s started, find a blank area within the services window, right click and hit refresh. Or just tap F5. Has the service died? If not, skip to step 7.
  6. The service died, didn’t it? Look for a ‘Windows Management Instrumentation’ service. This needs to be running for Windows Audio to be running, even though it’s not listed in the dependancies. Fire it up, then fire up Windows Audio.
  7. Fire up iTunes, and enjoy.
Secondly, you can open Control Panel and uninstall and then reinstall QuickTime. You can download QuickTime at this URL:

Third, you can try to reinstall iTune and allow any settings about playback and audio configuration with iTune during that.

Hope those helps.

Just installed new motherboard and now receive following message......itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly. How do I fix this?

Try reinstalling quicktime. Go on control panel uninstall quicktime. Then go to this url:
Download it again. And install it again. Itunes should now work.

If it doesn't, for Video problems: Open QuickTime Player and go to 'Edit' -> 'Preferences' -> 'QuickTime Preferences' -> 'File Types' -- check here to see if the file format of your problem video files is selected.

For Audio problems: Open QuickTime Player and go to 'Edit' -> 'Preferences' -> 'QuickTime Preferences' -> 'Audio' -- Here you will see a Device is needed that will play your sound. Select 'Audio Playback and Recording Devices', If you are having an Audio problem it may be due to having no device or an improper device.

Good Luck

Itunes is detecting a problem with my audio configuration... my computer (laptop) wont play any sound at all. What should I do?

If you have audio managing software like Realtek, you can usually reset some options, and likewise, you can make adjustments from the audio and sounds menu in control panel. Most of the changes you can make are harmless and can be readily undone. iTunes could also just be acting stupid, like when it would screw up whenever I loaded AIM. You might want to see if there are some options that iTunes is set up with, which are causing the problem. When it gives you the message, saying it's detected a problem, see if you can read what it means by a problem. If you continue to have problems with iTunes, try using Winamp, it's a free download, and takes up little memory, and no spyware. Between those options, that should help resolve your problem.

I tunes has detected a problem with audio configuration audio/video playback

Go to Start> Run

Type in 'Services.msc' without the quotes.

Find Windows Audio in the list. Most likely it has not 'started', as stated beside each of the items in the list. Click on it, then click 'start'. Re open your itunes and it should be working.
