Hi, I have an Avery 9100 Personal Label Printer. How do I actually open it to remove the label from the roller, it looks all closed up, would I have to unscrew the whole lot? Thanks Helen.

Labels are a common cause of printer jams. As the label paper goes through the printer, it is not uncommon for a label to peel off and get stuck inside the printer. Even a small blockage like a label can cause the entire printer to jam.
if u dont have warranty u can try this method..... if u have warranty dont hesitate to call avery
Inspect the roller for label pieces. Manually remove any pieces that are stuck to the rollers. If adhesive residue builds up on the roller, please visit web site at for cleaning instructions.
if the label is jammed The Status Light Indicator is RED or will not stop flashing. • Remove any jammed labels. • If the feeder is clear of a jam or debris, press the Advance button to feed labels. • Turn the printer off and on. High volume printing, 20 continuous labels or more, may cause the Print Head sensor to pause printing if the Print Head gets too hot. If this occurs, the printer will automatically resume printing, within minutes, once the Print Head cools down.

if that doesnt help....
• Press the Advance button. • Lift the Peel Lever (up) and press the Advance button. • Make sure that the labels are rotating over the top of the Spool (inside top door). • Make sure that the label roll is properly feeding through the Print Head Opening. • Remove the roll and check for jagged edges, shredding or jammed labels.
Check for jammed labels or a blockage of the label feeder. make sure the print head is also clean...... agaion i must insist that u try opening ur label printer only incase ur warranty period is over.. opening the printer while ur warranty period is still intact will void ur warranty
if u found my adice helpful.... kindly rate my service........
thank you good luck and have a nice day

Hp laserjet 4 plus label stuck and prints with smudge now

Where is the label stuck? If you are lucky and it is stuck on the toner cartridge's image drum, just replace the toner cartridge. Do not, I repeat, do not try to remove the label from the drum and continue to use the toner cartridge. The reason being that there will still be adhesive on the drum that will cause toner to stick to it and cause big bad defects on the printed page. Additionally, if you try to remove the adhesive with lighter fluid, rubbing alcohol, or other substance and a cloth/paper towel, the drum will be scratched and therefore damaged, causing defects in the printing anyway. Just save the trouble and replace the toner cartridge.

If the label is stuck elsewhere within the printer, be very careful about removing it, especially pay attention to whether any adhesive stays behind once the label is removed. Depending on where the label is, it might just be better to replace the labelled part.

It is highly recommended not to use labels inside laser printer precisely because of this problem. If you elect to do so, however, make sure that you use only laser labels. Inkjet and dot matrix (aka impact printer) labels are unacceptable. The reason being that laser printers generate about 350 Fahrenheit degrees (177 Celsius degrees) of heat which weakens the bond between the wax paper and the adhesive of the label. This causes the label to have a tendency to peel off in the fusing assembly and/or output rollers. Also the printer has a very "curvy" paper path and all that flexing of the paper tends to cause the label to want to leave the wax paper backing as well. All it takes is a loose edge of the label to find even the slightest surface to which to adhere and the deed is done: the label will leave the paper and become a part of your printer, giving you the headaches that you now endure. If you have a future need to print labels, I would suggest doing so with either a dot matrix or inkjet printer.

Have a small round label that may be stuck on the print roller of a Canon inkjet wireless printer. Anyway to check inside?

Open the covers and look inside. Take a pair tweezers and see if you can pull the small round label off if you see it.

We removed a stuck on label, now the printer won't print half the thermal label

I haven't seen one of these for years. However I really need more detail. In what direction is the print missing? across or down the label?

If across it most likely a dirty printhead

If down the label it could be a portion of label still stuck to the sensor.

Can you describe where the label stuck?

Sticker label stuck inside

Depends on where inside the machine the label got stuck. There's covers on the back, front (which also lets you remove the toner/drum unit for more access) and also the paper tray.
If you're unable to reach the label removing these parts/opening the covers, the machine would require to be screwed apart to reach it. There is no levels to release pressure on drum or similar to reach further within, unfortunately.

Lexmark c530dn printer

Hi there the best thing is to use an alcohol based cleaning fluid and a soft cloth.

Spray the label with the fluid after removing all consumables of cause. then wipe the area with cloth and the label will start to break down repeat until label gone then try printing.

If the label is stuck in the fuser section then replace fuser same if stauck on drum.

Thanks J
