Connecting an External Monitor or Data Projector You can switch to anexternal monitor or data projector by two methods.1. Connect the externalmonitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and thelaptop. The video information will automatically switch to the externalmonitor.2. If you power up thelaptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor bypressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make andmodel laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screenplus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn keyplus one of the function key. Here is a list of keycombinations for some of the laptops :-IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7HP and Compaq = Fn + F4Toshiba = Fn + F5Dell = Fn + F8
power ON your projector and laptop
connect your laptop and projector with VGA cable and press
if your laptop PANASONIC or NEC (Fn+F3) ACER, HP,SHARP,TOSHIBA (Fn+F5) LENOVO, SONY (Fn+F7)
DELL, EPSON (Fn+F8)
If problem exist remove the VGA driver in your laptop and reinstall the correct driver not a standard display driver
Connect your projector to your laptop using a VGA cable. Now turn ON your projector and your laptop.
To make your screen projected, look at your function keys (F1 to F12). Look for the icon which looks like a laptop LCD and a TV. It should appear like LCD icon/TV icon. In some model it is in F4 while F3 in Lenovo. Example, you found the icon in F4, just press and hold down the FN key and press F4 to send your desktop image to the projector. This combination is called the "dual monitor" setup which in your case, the second monitor is a digital projector.
try pressing FN on your keyboard then press F3 = FN+F3 at teh same time to project waht is in the laptop to the projector........
if not go to desktop right click anywhere select display properties it should give you the option to select the monitor and projectors detected by the laptop to show what is on you laptop as well posbbile u will need to either expand or if the option cloning will be present to have both show on the laptop and desktop ^_^
