My Windows XP sp2 does not start up after the installation.

I had just built a brand new computer with an Asus P5QL PRO Motherboard, an Asus EN8400GS Silent 512MB, a 1GB Kingston Ram Chip, A Seagate 40GB SATA Hard Drive, and a LG DVD drive using an HDD cable. After I built the computer I start up my computer to boot up my Windows XP Professional sp2 CD to start the installation of my Windows XP Professional sp2. During the installation it asked me if i want to partition my hard drive and I chose not to and hit the Enter key. Then it asked me if I want to delete the files form my hard drive (click "L" to delete) and i click L to delete it after deleting the files it starts install Windows XP. When the installation was done it said it will now restart my computer, during this time when it was restarting I still had my Windows XP CD in the drive. when it restarts this Error about Express Gate came up saying i need to install Express Gate. the screen showed up for only 3 seconds and it went on to the Asus Logo screen then it went on to another black screen checking my Drives and stuff. I didn't quite catch what it was saying. After the part where it checks my for my drives and stuff it went back to the screen where it boots up my Windows XP Professional CD then later I tried to restart the computer again, but this time without the CD because i thought it was in the way of loading the Windows XP boot screen. After it went past the part where it cheks for my drives, this time the screen turns black with a small blinking line on the top left corner. and that was it. the line had been blinking there for a very long time and still nothing happened.

If i did something wrong please go ahead and sovle my problem cause I am confused on how to sovle the problem.

Thanks in advance to those who have giving a solution to my problem.

Hi, I think you have not finish yet your OS installation, when installing OS just wait for it till you have see the start menu pop-up then there you go, you can now remove your installation CD. And express gate is a browser included in your ASUS motherboard that lets you boot up in seconds and enjoy your stuff even your OS is not fully loaded yet..

Dotmgr missing xp

Hello i hope you mean boot mgr is missing.
This means your windows is damaged, by a virus/malware or a faulty harddrive.

The solution is to install windows again, or make a system repair with the original windows disk.

Here is how to make a system repair:

http://www.ehow.com/how_6970596_fix-windows-xp-boot-
manager.html

A second option, is to download this program:

http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd

And burn the ISO file to a disk, and let the pc boot from it.
This cd has a option to repair a damaged boot file.
With this tool, you can save most of the files on the harddrive.

Here is a smart program, that burns ISO files:

http://cdburnerxp.se/

If you have to make a new install of windows, you can download the drivers here:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P5QL%20PRO&p=1&s=22

Please select your windows system.

Open the driver folder, and click global for download.

Any files from here, needs to be unziped, before you install the driver.

Good luck

Try these....
Overheating problem in your PROCESSOR!
Check the temp in your BiOS and the setting of your processor!
Check also the power supply and upgrade it to hifgher wattage!
Clean your processor HEAT SiNK, dust and dirt might have acumulated!
Check the HEAT sink position, if its flatly fitted on top of procie, and scrape the old silicon paste between ur proci and heat sink and put a NEW ONE!

Encountered this kind of prob.. the prob is in the PSU unit(Power Supply Unit)!

These might help you!

ASUS P5QL PRO memory problem

This problem occurs because of confliction between RAM memory frequency.
For that you must have 2 RAM with same memory frequency and same company chip .
Then it works fine with 2 RAM.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks.

Reinstall and during the install press F6 when it ask if would like to install 3rd party drivers and have the driver disk for your hard drive ready and install those when ask.once it is done it should complete the xp install and restart correctly.
