Either reinstall your xp operating system or change your booting up device .
to change that you must push the F key that it shows on the screen when you start up the computer i forget which key it is. that allows you to go in to a menu to change multiple things on your computer. but only mess with that if you know what you are doing because you might ruin your computer.
if your not to great with computers ill gladly explain the process on hot to change the boot device.

Dell Suport > Dimension E510 Desktop PC > Drivers and Downloads>

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19

Look in the box under the Operating System subheading -
Windows Vista 32-bit.
The download page automatically opens to Vista 32-bit.

Left-click on the blue Down Arrow, to the right of the box.
In the drop down list, left-click on Windows XP.
(Works for both Home Edition, and Pro Edition)

Click on the blue Down Arrow to the left of - Audio (3)
Go down to the third file listed in blue - SIGMATEL - Driver
Go across, and left-click on - Download File

In the pop-up window make sure there is a green dot in the small circle, to the left of - For Single File Download via Browser.
If not left-click in the small circle.

Now go to the bottom of the pop-up window, and click on -
Download Now in the blue oval.
A small window will come up on the right -
Opening R114282.EXE

Left-click on Save File
Another small window will come up on the left.
In the heading at the top of the window, tells you where the file will download to.

Using Windows XP as an example;
(Doesn't matter if it's Home Edition or Pro Edition),

It may have Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads, in the wording.

Desktop: The driver file will be on your desktop screen.
My Documents: Left-click on Start, then My Documents

Downloads: Left-click on Start, then My Documents.
DOUBLE-click on Downloads.

When you see the file name DOUBLE-click on it.
(Yes the file is OK, if a Microsoft 'Squawk Box' comes up. Click on RUN )

The Installation Wizard will appear. At the bottom of the next three small windows, click on Next, Next, and Finish.

If you are not asked to restart your computer, do so. Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Restart. (Start > Turn Off Computer > Restart)

When Windows goes to load you should hear the Windows 'jingle'.

Still No?
Let the computer run for about 10 minutes or so. Surf the internet, whatever.
Now turn the computer off.
WAIT 2 minutes, turn the computer back on.

Sometimes it takes a Hard Start. { Cold Boot }
(Restart is a Soft Start. Warm Boot)

Still no? The audio chipset on the motherboard, (Integrated Audio) is bad. Suggest an economical sound card, for one of the white PCI slots.

I need to upgrade my internet explorer6. Everytime I try, I get a message that says Unknown Publisher & it won't go any further. Can you help? Thank you

Go to the Microsoft website.
Download Internet Explorer 8 if you're using XP or Explorer 9 if you have Windows Vista or 7.
When prompted whether to save or run click save.
Save the file to your desktop and wait for it to finish downloading.
Once it has finished double click on it to install.

What is wrong with my computer when I restart it & when it gets to the screen where the microsoft words come up w/ the green progress bar showing. Then the screen stays black & all you see is the...

Seems to be your video driver (maybe). restart the computer when you see Dell logo start tapping on F8 key it will take you to advanced windows options. Select Safemode and press enter. login like you normally would . once you are on your desktop go to Start>all programs> accessories>system tools > system restore. Select the lastes bolded date and contunie to follow the prompts and your system should restart. You system will restart and it will state the system restore has completed. If not repeat the process by going into safemode with networking. once the desktop is up click on internet explorer and go to support.dell.com click on Drivers and downloads and search by service tag. down load the video driver in the video category.
hope that helps

When you turn the comuter on, it just shows the

--SAFE BOOT MODE--

I am going to have you take your Mac into Safe Mode to see if we can't remove a possible folder(s) that may be affecting your Mac's start up function.

Try these steps:

• Reboot your Mac
• Upon restarting your Mac, press the Shift key.
• Hold the Shift key until you see a White Screen with Gray Apple icon and eventually a spinning gear.

• When you see the Spinning gear, release the Shift key.

• Allow the Mac to continue booting up. Also this may take a little while
(NOTE: this may take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to load to the Safe mode screen depending on the performance of your Mac, but if it exceeds this time, shutdown your Mac and try just once more. It may have just frozen up the first time around for you.)

• You are going to enter the Safe Mode (which looks like your main desktop environment - the only difference is certain start up items are disabled.)

• Once within the Desktop in Safe Mode
• From the Finder Menu, click Go> Go to Folder
• Type in this line: /System/Library/StartupItems
• This path, is going to take you to the System Library folder which has all of your Mac OS X StartupItems.

• Remove all of those folders to the Trash.

*Reboot your Mac normally and see if you can access your normal User desktop environment.

This should help get your iMac G4 back up
and running.

Toshiba Laptop Malfunction (2)

This sounds like 2 things, it could be a video driver conflict or there's a startup program that might be causing the problem. To check which is which, try restarting the computer > press F8 when you see the toshiba screen until you get the Advanced Boot Options.. then choose Enable VGA Mode (I'm assuming your using WindowsXP). If that works and you get to the desktop screen with no problems, try removing the display driver & replace it with a compatible one (usually on the cd that came with the laptop). If that doesn't work, try choosing Safe Mode and run msconfig (start > run > msconfig) and disable all services & startup programs (don't forget to check "hide all microsoft services"). then restart the computer. If this doesn't work and continually goes to a loop, do you see a bluescreen with error messages on it? Like Error 0x00000003 or 0x0000000E etc.? or a memory dump error? That could be a hardware problem already and it may require service.

Hope this helps.

Desktop resolution

turn power off... turn power on, right after turn on, keep tapping F8 till a boot screen shows up. then select safe mode.
after you boot up into windows, change the setting.
if it won't let you then you need to go into device manager and uninstall the display adapter. then restart computer.
the display adapter should auto install itself to default 800x600 or 1024x768.
