If your computer is a SR1620NX the support site on compaq tells you what you need http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00378480&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=1127351
go down to expansion slots and it says

  • One PCI Express x16 graphics
  • Three PCI
  • One SCSI connector for PCI Extender Card for two additional PCI slots (optional)
so if you want to put a graphics card in you need a pci express card or a pci card

I wanna know what video cards will fit my DC7600 convertible minitower

Your PC has a PCI-e x16 slot available for upgrading graphics cacapabilities. Any PCI-e x16 that is not double-slot wide or that requires a pcie power plug should work. If you take a look at the images at NewEgg.com you can see which NVIDIA (Geforce) and Radeon based cards are double wide. Your PC just doesn't have the physical space for a fit. For Radeon cards 3000 series and below with the exception of not higher that an HD 3650 in the 3000 series. For NVIDIA based cards in the 7000 series and lower with a couple of exceptions. 8000 series: nothing higher than an 8600 model. 9000 series is a no go.
Your PSU is not capable of running the cards I mentioned as exceptions. Your PSU is less than 300W. Powerful video cards require more wattage and extra PCIe specific power connectors. Read the specs to ensure that the video card you are considering does not have any additional power requirements.
You can link to the cards you are considering and we will let you know if the will fit and work and why they will not if they are exceptions.

What is Bluecell

The video card that you choose for your system largely depends on your requirements. If you use applications that are very heavy on the graphics, then you should consider a PCI express video card with SLI capabilities. However, if the most graphics intensive thing you plan on doing on your computer is watching a usb 3.0 pci cardDVD movie, then you don't really need one that's very powerful, any standard one should PCI Express card do. In many cases, you might even be able to make do with the card that came with your system.
If you're interested in purchasing a new video card, then it's important that you examine the current capabilities of your motherboard. usb 3.0 pci express card The older motherboards support only one graphics card at a time through an AGP slot. Motherboards today do not support AGP cards. Today, the new standard is PCI express, usb 3.0 pci card which has recently replaced AGP as the favoured graphics

HP slimline 7320 needs larger video card

I checked out the specs on your computer, and it does have a single upgrade slot, of the PCI variety. Don't confuse this with PCIE, which is totally different.
To make it fit in your PC, some video cards come "low profile ready", which means the circuit board is narrow enough, and they include a narrow bracket for mounting in the slim computers. They leave it to you to switch out the bracket, which is usually a couple of screws. Pretty easy to switch out.
There is two major drawback to this suggestion:
  1. PCI is not the preferred connection for graphics cards (it has a slower interface, and thus lacks pretty much all more powerful cards).
  2. You may have to remove an existing card (a modem, or network card, perhaps) to make it available.
If you are a gamer (you want to play 3D games on it), I would hold off and save your pennies for a more capable machine. This is not it.
Otherwise, there are several acceptable (not great, but OK) low profile cards out there. Look for low-profile and PCI in the description. I know newegg has a bunch of different models available in the $35-175 range. Just make sure whatever you get is low profile & PCI.
That should get you going. Let me know if you have other questions.

Hi, Is Asus ATI Radeon HD6450 Silence 1GB DDR3 VGA/DVI/HDMI Low Profile PCI-Express Video Card capable for my Compaq HP Presario SR2020NX? -thanks a lot.

You mean will the Asus ATI Radeon HD6450 with 1GB of graphics memory, work in a Compaq Presario SR2020NX Desktop PC?

Yes.

The Compaq Presario SR2020NX Desktop PC has a PCI-Express x16 expansion slot.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00757470&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3245048

{Motherboard illustration and photo are towards the bottom of the page}

Look at the specifications.
Scroll down to the heading - Expansion slots.

Three PCI. (PCI expansion slots)

One PCI Express x16 graphics.

NOTE*
Looking at the motherboard illustration, it is Wrong.
Shows - PCIEX1 (PCI E X1)
According to the specifications it is a PCIEX16 expansion slot. (PCI-E x16)

A PCI-Express x1 slot has 36 contact pins. 18 on each side.

In comparison a PCI slot {White} has 124 contact pins. 62 on each side.

Looking at the photo of the supposed PCI-E x1 slot they show, the black PCI-Ex1 slot is longer than the white PCI slots.

It is a PCI-Express x16 slot with 164 pins. 82 on each side.

The Asus ATI Radeon HD6450 uses a PCI-Express x16 expansion slot.

So you know the graphics card will fit. Low-profile to boot.

Power requirement:
The Compaq Presario SR2020NX desktop computer comes with a 300 Watt power supply.
(Although in actuality it's more like 70 percent of the maximum rated wattage. 210 Watts)

Enough power for the computer, and the graphics card.
ATI graphics cards do not use as much power as a comparable Nvidia graphics card.

Concerned that the Asus graphics card uses DDR3 graphics ram memory, and the Presario SR2020NX uses DDR2 Sdram ram memory?

Don't be. The graphics cards graphics memory runs independent of the computer's ram memory.

Just installed mobo ms-7091 m atx but find it as no video out ports how do i get a picture.i know its old but its my first attempt at building pc can i just install a graphics card.

I found the user manual here :
http://217.110.237.70/Manuals/Medion%208383XL%20mit%20MS-7091.pdf
Your motherboard provides 1 pci-express x16 slot, so you will need to install a pci-express video card.
Try to get a video card that doesn't need to be powered by the power supply. There are some out there that don't need to be powered, but .....
Most, but not all, pci-e video cards need to be plugged into your main computer power supply to work. If your power supply was designed to power a pci-e video card, it will have a 6 pin pci-e power connector to connect to a pci-e video card. If your power supply doesn't have this connector, you should replace the power supply with one with the pci-e power connector.

Hi yair_osman,
Install PCI Express [Graphics / Video Card]
You can install {Any Type} of PCI Express Card.
It 'must be a [16x PCIe] card!" the "lowercase" (e) = Express.
Important!: It "must fix the {Form Factor} of your Desktop!"
Meaning: "The "Dimensions" in (inches)
Go to the "Website" below.
Its for your Desktop "Assembly Guide"

This is an example of a PCI Express Card:
Galaxy 43GGS8HX3SPZ
GeForce GT 430 Video Card
Price: $69.99

Wha t is a pci

Conventional PCI (part of the PCI Local Bus standard and often shortened to PCI) is a computer bus for attaching hardware devices in a computer. These devices can take either the form of an integrated circuit fitted onto the motherboard itself, called a planar device in the PCI specification, or an expansion card that fits into a slot. The name PCI is an initialism formed from Peripheral Component Interconnect. The PCI Local Bus is common in modern PCs, where it has displaced ISA and VESA Local Bus as the standard expansion bus, and it also appears in many other computer types. Despite the availability of faster interfaces such as PCI-X and PCI Express, conventional PCI remains a very common interface.

The PCI specification covers the physical size of the bus (including wire spacing), electrical characteristics, bus timing, and protocols. The specification can be purchased from the PCI Special Interest Group (PCI-SIG).

Typical PCI cards used in PCs include: network cards, sound cards, modems, extra ports such as USB or serial, TV tuner cards and disk controllers. Historically video cards were typically PCI devices, but growing bandwidth requirements soon outgrew the capabilities of PCI. PCI video cards remain available for supporting extra monitors and upgrading PCs that do not have any AGP or PCI Express slots.

Many devices traditionally provided on expansion cards are now commonly integrated onto the motherboard itself, meaning that modern PCs often have no cards fitted. However, PCI is still used for certain specialized cards, although many tasks traditionally performed by expansion cards may now be performed equally well by USB devices.

What video card would be compatable with a insignia computer model d300?

I would recommend any of the Nvidia or ATI video cards that come in the PCI format. Your computer only has PCI slots. These are the older slot types, so your options will be limited for brand new cards, but there's still plenty out there. As long as the slot type is PCI and the chipset is a major manufacturer, it should work with no problem. Do NOT get any video card that says "PCI Express" or "PCI-X" - they won't fit.

Does a Foxconn 633 m02 motherboard have pci express slots?

You have a Foxconn G33M02? then you have PCI express ports, so you'll need to look at pci express video cards to fit on your pci express x16 ports (the long pci-e port, probably blue colored) on your motherboard.
