Question about DeLonghi Pinguino PACL90 Portable Air Conditioner

Oil Leaking from unit

Brought the unit home from storage. I laid it down in the car and when I put it back upright at the house it started leaking quite a bit of oil. I'm afraid to bring it in the house. Anyone know what the oil is and will it still work? Thanks.

U should let the AC be in it's correct position for sometime.U can try plugging it into the main AC line it will surely work otherwise u'll have to contact a serviceman coz the pipes could have been choked n it might need gas refilling.

The oil is filled in the compressor to cool it off,if there's a breakage anywhere near the compressor the oil comes out due to the pressure of the Gas.

Drive it as is, or put a couple thousand into the fix

You ran it out of oil, find out why

The damage is done to any number of places in the motor,
your lucky you can still use it

Don't spend money on a 13 year old vehicle & a 4.6
Drive it as long as you can, find out where the oil went

Doesn't run, starts a rattle noise when plugged in then stops quickly.

YES! You need to wait at least 24 hours before running the unit if you laid it down. It needs time for the oil to run back down to the compressor. Keep me posted.

I replaced the tub/motor coupling on my Kenmore model # 110.26912690 washer. I laid the machine on its back, while waiting for the parts, which came 3 days later. I noticed some thick oil had leaked...

Your oil is more than likely from the washer's "transmission". like your car, the washer employs a similar set up in order to change from "agitate' to "spin", etc. the oil is necessary to the operation, and the extended time (3days) on its side allowed some to leak out. Unfortunately, the only sure-fire way to tell if you still have enough oil will be to have a repair tech look it over and add if necessary. for future reference, if you ever think you need to tip your unit over, you'll have to be very quick about it, and if it needs parts, stand it back upright while you wait.

Moved unit, wont get cold

did you transport it upright or laying down.... depending on who you talk to you will get a different answer... i have been in the appliance business for 18 years and have to say the more i hear they are transported laying down the more i hear troubles... either way after transported or moved they should be left sitting for approx. 24 hours to allow all the oil to settle back down,,,also could have developed a leak in the sealed system one of the refrigerant lines leaking.

I checked my oil level cause the car said so,put a qt. in it then went to work and came bck home and said level is low cheched it and it was a qt. low. What cause this.

Hi!
That's a lot of oil loss, And its not normal or maybe when you put the oil in maybe it needed 2 Qt then you put one and it still needed one or you might be leaking oil. Did you notice any leaks under your car when you park home ? Check for leaks because that's a lot of oil and the car wont burn that much from work to home, Is there any smoke coming from the tail pipe ?

Just brought a second hand freezer for garage. It worked at the house but when I brought it back home and plugged it in it didn't get cold I had a green light on and a red hazard light on. Should I have...

The green light means it has power . The red light means the temp is not satisfactory . If the freezer was laid on its side anytime and did not sit for 24 hrs before plugging it in , then it's no good anymore due to compressor pumping solid oil into the lines instead of refrigerant . The oil causes restrictions not allowing the refrigerant to flow .
