The phrase tune up is sort of a holdover from a different time, like lube oil and filter. still need to change oil and filter every so often, but as far as the lube goes most newer cars and trucks have sealed bearings that you can't squirt grease into, that was the lube part of lof. what you can do for a tune up on your truck, unless you are having a specific problem, is replace the spark plugs, change the air cleaner and pcv valve, maybe give it a dose of injector cleaner.you can't replace the ignition wires on a coilless ignition system without replacing the coil packs and it's not worth it unless you are having a problem. you should clean the battery terminals every so often and check all the fluids, make sure that your tires are properly inflated, stuff like that. the tires are one area where you can save yourself some money, you will get closer to whatever the rating is for the tire life (50,000 or 75,000 or whatever it was when you bought the tires) and you will save fuel and improve handling all the while.
