Won't power-up or boot after turn off. has to cool 8hrs. to work again.now it turns off a lot more

Take a can of air and blow off the fans. One inside the little metal box called a power supply inside the main case.
Also the cpu has a fan and heat sink on it that gets dust built inside and needs cleaning.
Warning, always unplug the power cord. Make sure you are touching something metal in the case while touching the inside of the PC. It can protect it from static shock.

Also never shake an air can. And don't spray while it's upside down. The liquid can seriously burn you.

Emachines t5212 overheat message then shuts down

Three causes of ovheating:
1) Dust. Dust inside the computer, Dust around the vents, fans, cpu and heat sink. Take a can of compressed air and clean the dust out of the computer.

2) A Fan not working. Make sure the fan inside the Power Supply where you plug the power cord in works. Also there is a fan that sits on top of the CPU and Heat Sink. Make sure it works. Normally the system will give you an error message if the fan is not working.

3) Thermal Paste - The Thermal Paste around the cpu and heat sink has dried up or is too thin to keep the unit cool. Apply a fresh coat of Thermal Paste on the CPU and Heat Sink.

Dell 370 fan runs loud and won't start

If the fan is failing the most times the computer will not start because it will overheat. There are two fans inside the system, one inside the Power Supply and one that sits on the motherboard.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the case, Remove the cover and with a can of compressed air blow out the dust inside the computer. Clean the dust away from the Fans, Vents, CPU and Heat Sink are that sits under the Fan on the motherboard.

My computer hangs/stop responding expectedly and when i check the processor , it very hot , !!! help me plz ...!!!

Hi,

You can try to disasseble your desktop and check if the processor fan is not working properly. Try to clean accumulated dust and replace it if needed. Also add more fans to decrease temperature inside the system. Do not operate your desktop as possible, it may do further damage to other components of the system.

Hope this helps.

I have one server IBM X series 346, which is giving Fan alarm , its fan LED showing amber, though server is working fine.

The problem could be a faulty CPU fan or the fan and heat sinl assembly is clogged with dust.
Check the fan, if it does not spin freely then replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust, remove the dust and use a can of compressed air to clear the dust from the heat sink fins.

Casing getting hot, fan going mad then slowing down

Have you ever removed the side panel and cleaned out the dust from inside the computer case?

If your fans or air inlets get clogged up with dust then your machine will run very hot and could eventually shut down or cause permanent damage.

Unplug all the cables from the back of your pc, and remove the 2 screws from the back panel that secure the side panel. Then just pull back on the side panel and it will pop off.

Clean out all the dust from inside the case. You can use a vacuum hose but don't bang into anything with it. Also use a small clean paint brush to lightly brush the dust off of the fan blades and the CPU heatsink and around the power supply air vents. You can also use a can of compressed air if you have it to dislodge the dust and then **** it up with the vacuum.

Good luck and please comment back and RATE if this was helpful.

Fan comes on frequently on hp computer. dust etc

If this is a desktop computer, did you clean out all the dust inside the computer? You can buy cans of compressed air at places like Staples. Make sure you blow the dust out of the power supply and cpu heat sink.

I've had a bad dust problem and my cpu fan began making a loud whirring noise and finally the computer shut down altogether. Took the cover off totally cleaned out the dust and turned the power back on....

If the computer detects overheating or fan failure it will shut down automatically. If you replace the fan you should be fine. Remove your old fan and try to get one that connects the same way, some of them connect directly to the heat sink, others to the motherboard.

How to open tower fan to clean it

Use compressed air to blow the dust etc. out of the unit.  You can purchase a  can of compressed air from Home Depot or Lowes, or Google "compressed air in a can."  Just make sure you clean the unit outside to keep the dust etc. out of your home.
