If you have an aftermarket stereo, the hook up is fairly simple. On your amp there should be a minimum of 5 terminals and an audio input. one is for remote which is connected to the blue wire on your stereo. Second is your ground which is your negative connection. it should be connected to the body of the car close to the frame. Third is your hotwire which is the positive lead, it should go straight to your battery. The fourth and fifth are speaker wires, you may have 2 or more of these that have + and - signs above or below them. When wiring the speakers make sure to match the positive and negative connections on the speakers. If your rewiring all of the door speakers to your new amp then the colors that you see once you have them out are the colors you route to the appropriate locations on your amp. If this is for a sub then you just the connect th positive terminal on the sub which is red to the + on the amp and the black terminal on the sub the the - location on the amp.

Lastley there should be an audio input that runs from your stereo to your amplifier. This wire should be ran as far away from the positive wire as possible to avoid engine noise coming through your speakers.

I need help on hooking up a JVC cd player in my 1997 mazda protege. Mostly just figuring out the wiring of the car.

well you should buy your cars wiring harness, then you can hook up the wires from it to your deck, get everything ready and then just pull factory deck and plug it in,unless some **** has chopped all the wires in your car then you will need a tester light

Engine swap. color codes are different need wiring diagram

I've done several of these swaps that sound good at the time but end up being a Huge problem.I would start with the correct harness for the engine you've put in.It must include the under hood harness and what ever harness connects to it thru the firewall to the computer. You'll also need everything connected to the transmission to the computer including any thing connected with the brake and accelerator pedals.Next get the wiring diagrams from Jeep or buy the Chilton or Haynes manual, they have the diagrams included.Get the harnesses connected to the engine, trans and computer, then work backward towards hooking up everything else.I really feel your pain,I've put 20 year newer engines in older cars,V-8's where 6's were,an olds V-8 where a in-line six was(ford),Late model v-8 in a 59' Chevy. All these were simple compared to what your going thru. Please contact me if I can be of any help?

HOW TO CONNECT PIONEER DEH-P4700MP TO 91 MAZDA 626

Hello pleazallnite,

Here's a link to the wiring color code for the Mazda 626. This link is to downlaod a copy of the DEH-P4700MP owners manual. The wiring diagram is on page 50. You can simply connect the wires by function to the vehicle wiring. But a better solution to avoid cutting or tapping into the vehicle wiring is to purchase an aftermarket wiring harness. The Metra part number 70-7901 appears to be the correct harness for your vehicle and is available from Crutchfield for $12.99.

Hope this helps.

Installing after market stereo

Dave,

You will need to go buy a wiring harness adapter from your local Walmart (usually cheapest there) or Local Electronics place (ie Best Buy). The wire harness that goes out from the radio goes into the Adapter and the adapter plugs into the car harnesses. Also these Adapters come with the wiring diagrams for your vehicle. They typically run 10 - 15 bucks depending on where you get them. Thanks for using FixYa!

Sincerely,

JC

Wireing harness

you can buy the proper harness for any vehicle at most stereo shops or even some at WalMart, but you have to hook it to the one that plugs into the radio. The colors on each harness will be identical- just match them up.
