What model do you have? if it's cs30, the the carb needs to be replaced, as there is a diaphgram in there that pumps in fual via engine vibe's. it's most likely ruptured, so you have what you're getting and as well leakign gas out of carb. air intake.
solutions:
1.exchange trimmer and make sure you dont store it over winter or extended period with gas in it;always run it dry before you put it away for the season.
2. have carb replaces by a small engine mechanic.

oh. craftsman. well, i ave known them to use similar systems, even though there's is more expensive at least where i live.
i would like to recommend that you buy a Ryobi model CS26 trimmer. NOT CS30. it's simple to use, lightweight compared to many other trimmers, has low emissions, and is a tough little ******. you'd be happy with it. and i forgot to add a real neat casing design.

After running first time and shuts it down the pull cord is very hard to pull. is it compression built up. if so how do i fix it.

Beware of piston clamping in cilinder ? If its serviced Both piston and cilinder most in a combination bought.
If it is pulling in cold condition good give first some extra (important= only some counterclockwise adjustment on the H needle.
It can happen that the fuel adjustment is to lean IF ITS A chainsaw strimmer or hedge trimmer.

If a lawnmower there can be a problem with the clutch if its a Self-driving mower if you mean

Piston wont retrace TO READY POSITION

Maybe there can be a problem with a rip in the cilinder its a very thin cilinder and its neccesary to replace with all the parts on it because of the extreme heat build up.
cilinder assy 42 41A possible necessary, but first inspect the cilinder carefully on a rift. some other rings or parts broken or worn.

I have a craftsman bushwacker trimmer that calls for a mixture of gas of 40 - 1, I have a can of pre mixed trufuel that is 50 - 1, is this ok to use

When the can of premix is a Alkylat fuel like motomix (for stihl)or aspen 2T( for husqvarna) then its much better to use because of the cilinder material is made (most times it is not Nikasil but Gilnisil (gillardoni) when its an Italian engine made product because it has much more compression then an older mc Culloch or SOlO or whatever and maybe you have a decompressor to push befor you can start ? in that case you cannot using other fuel then Alkylat fuel and that the quality of the lubrication inside the normal gasoline fuel is more discutabel then the 1:40 1:50 when use a normal gasoline because of the high compression (if a deflator decompressor is on the engine) it can makes problems to the piston because at a short time there can a deposition of a very hard carbon deposits in the exhaust port around in the alu where is little but enough missing a gillardoni surface inside the cilinder and for shure it can made grooves in the piston when you To control this time to time disassemble the exaust from the cilinder always when you will made self mixture a shell ultimate with a good castrol 2 stroke oil when its to expensive to buy aspen or motomix, but when used sometimes in a year then the choice is yours.
, try MOTOMIX or ASPEN ( and its much better for your health)

Setting the timing gears on stihl fs110r gas trimmer

Hello there, on the flywheel, between the fins, to the right of the magnet there is an arrow. This arrow points toward the closest ignition unit mounting screw (centre line of the engine) or spark plug when the piston is at the top of it's stroke - which is ware it needs to be to set the cam timing. On each side of the face of the cam there are two arrows facing towards the gear teeth, these line up with two raised lines cast into each side of the cam casing. Another way to align the two components is to set the pointy part of the cam lobe straight up or straight down. Reassemble the followers, push rods and rockers, sparingly apply a good quality automotive sealant to the cam cover - use the groove as a guide. Once that has been done the valve clearances can be set - 0.1 mm with the piston at the top of it's stroke and with the valves fully closed, not on the rock ie exhaust closing as inlet opening. You should replace the cork gasket and copper sealing washer as well. These engines will not run if air is getting in passed a leaking gasket etc.
Good luck.

I can't find the timing marks on the pulleys, the cilinder heads and the cilinder block.

it doesn't have any. there are no keyways to line up. you need a speacial plug that the crank shaft rests against and ther is a flat tool that fits into slots on the back side of the cams (you have to take the high pressure fuel pump off). if you loosen any of the cam bolts or crank bolt without them everything is out of time. why do you need timming marks, you don't have to change the chain. are you installing a new vct gear?

Cam does not engage blade

I had this problem with mine. I ended up disassembling the two halves of the trimmer, then reseating the cam. The cam was jammed when I caught the blades on a chain link fence. Good luck and patience.

Generator doesn't start

Hi

Check the spark at the plug, compression and carburation.Priming the engine, putb some gas in the cilinder and start the engine. If the engine runs only the gas you puted in the cilinder you have a delivery problem to find and fix.Remove the carb, disassembly and clean it,check and clean the air and gas filters.

Loss of power

Do you know how check if every cilinder is working? with the engine in idle, go to the distribuitor cap and carefully unplug one at the time, every cilinder spark plug wire,in the cilinder you dont see a diference in rpm variation, that cilinder is not working, replace spark plug, if you see spark jumping fron the distribuitor cap torch the spark plug wire, another cause to a cilinder fail could be a loss of compression in one or more cilinder
