Question about Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2.0

Microsoft Wireless Keyboards 6000v3 loss of BIO's on computer

After I installed (on another computer) both a 6000v3.0 keyboard and 6000v2.0 laser mouse I bought from CostCo, I rebooted as asked and my computer now does not not fully reboot and goes only as far as telling me that "AHCI BIOS not installed!!" "CMOS checksum error-defaults loaded"
I have no curser and I am at a loss as to what may have caused this or what I can do to cure this.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you

I got it fixed by my Tech. It seems that I touched a couple of small contacts right above a USB socket who's pupose it is to reset the bios, when I plugged in the wireless receiver into the back of the computer. He hit delete and went on from there. I had tried CONTR/ALT/DEL to no avail.

Unplugging the computer may very well have been part of the fix!

I put some tape over the contacts.

Thank you very much for your reply!

P.S.The Keyboard and mouse are great

You need to completely shut down your system. Power off. Unplug the power cord for 3 or 4 minutes. Plug the cord back in and try again but I would do so the first time without the new mouse and keyboard. Checksum errors are ram memory errors most of the time. the ACHI Bios error is bad new also. I think one or more of the new devices is bad. They could have a dead short in them that is causing severe problems with your PC that if it continues could cause some real damage.

Keys go bad.
Most keyboards are capacitive, so it isn't an actual switch under each key, but sometimes it's just crud under they key
Try popping the key off, cleaning underneath it, and replacing they key.

Microsoft wireless laser keyboard 6000 v2.0 keyboard not working

You have to press the button on the receiver that is directly connected to the computer. While doing this, press the connect button both the mouse and the keyboard. I did this and now my keyboard is working, despite the battery indicator turning itself off a few seconds after I install it.

Hope this solves your problem.
