Question about Biostar U8668D (802700113338) Motherboard
Since this is a fresh install of windows, suggest you download the manufactures hard disk drive floppy disk setup software. Each manufacture has their own bootable setup software that works in a DOS like window. You'll be able to check the drive, set the drives
FAT = File Allocation Table. Check the drive for errors & format the drive just to name a few things.
Once completed remove the bootable floppy disk/CD.
Insert your windows CD & reboot your system. Install windows again. (Do not use windows to format your drive. (You'll have already done that with the manufacture's software disk/CD).
Example, here is the link for Seagate IDE drive's;
Here is the link for Maxtor drives;
Western Digital drive's;
Samsung hard disk drive's;
My bet is there is something not right with the drive. Using the manfacture disk software will correct just about any problem that may be hindering data to be written to the drive.
