I'd like to replace the Control panel on the freezer door. The plastic has begun to crack on the buttons. Fridge is a TFX27PFSAWW, GE Profile, the part number for the control panel is WR55X117. Can you tell how to remove the front assembly? I have searched for a service manual but am not finding one.
Hi, if there are no screws in the underside of the bottom edge of the control panel, you should see two little lots in the underside of the bottom edge. Just use a flat blade screw driver and insert it into the slot. Twist the screws driver and the control panel should release.
I hope this helps you. please let me know if I can assist you further.

Looking up into the ice chute near the edge of the touch panel you will see 3ea 1/8" holes. Put a narrow pick into the 2 outboard holes one at a time. While pushing up firmly on the pick pry the the lower edge of the control panel face outwards. Repeat for the other outboard hole.
If the control board is corroded before spending $150 for a new replacement try cleaning the board with alcohol & a tooth brush. Unplug the refidgerator 1st before unplugging the control board connectors.
This cured the problem I was having with erratic ice chute activation.
