Due to loosely inserted Power Cable into the Printer Printer or Power Supply would have Failed because of sparking at the time of inserting the power Cable.

Why does my printer only print half of a page?

Let's start by trying this:
Unplug the printer power cord from the printer and the wall.
Turn off the PC.
Disconnect the USB cable from both ends.
Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Now, can you print a self-test page from the printer?
Make sure there is unused, plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
On the product control panel, press and hold the Power button and the Cancel (X) button at the same time.
Release both buttons. The diagnostic page prints.
If that does not work, are there any blinking lights on the printer? This document might explain them: Blinking lights.
If the self-test page does print normally, reconnect the USB cable, turn the PC back on and try to print a Windows test page:
Click the Windows icon and then click Control Panel . The Control Panel opens in a new window.
Click Hardware and Sounds .
Click Printers . The Printers folder opens.
Right-click the printer icon in the Printers folder.
Click Properties . The printer Properties window opens.
In the General tab, click Print Test Page . The Windows Printer Test Page prints.
If you have problems printing from Windows, you can try some of the troubleshooting steps in this document:
Printer Prints Blank Paper.
Finally, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the print driver.

S9000 will only print black if set on "high" print quality, then looks more grey than black

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please try to reset the printer by following the steps---

Turn the power off. Now hold down Resume button and press Power button. Keep holding down Power button and let the Resume button go. Press Resume button twice and then let both buttons go. Green light will flash then stop blinking. When Green light is solid, press Resume button 4 times. Now press the power button and the printer should turn off. If not, press the Power button once more.

If still the issue is not resolved, then please follow the procedure to uncheck the grayscale printing---

On the Windows desktop, click 'Start' then click 'Settings', then click 'Printers' (Windows XP: On the Start menu, click 'Printers and Faxes').

For Windows Vista: Click/Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then Click on 'Printers'.

Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.

For Windows 2000/XP/Vista: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Printing Preferences'.

For Windows 98/Me: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Properties' and then on the Main tab, click on the 'Grayscale Printing' check-box to remove the check-mark. Click the 'OK' button to save the settings.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Printer stopped working after I cancelled a print job

Turn off your printer and completely unplug the USB cable (from both the printer and the computer). Next check if the stopped document or the later documents are in the print spooler queue. If you can cancel all documents from the queue, do so. Otherwise: from Start Run (or the command prompt)
type: net stop spooler [enter]
then type: net start spooler [enter]

This works in XP and older MS Operating Systems but I've never tried it in Vista.

If you only enter the first command, you need to reboot the computer and then take a long coffee break after logging in before trying to print again.

My x1240 scans but does not copy or print. What do you suggest?

You will need to do the following diagnostic tests to determine the exact cause of the error:

· Remove the ink cartridges

· Perform the self test (test B below)

· Test the ink cartridges

A. To remove the ink cartridges:
Switch the printer on by pressing the green button.
Open the front cover of the printer. The cartridge carrier should move to the center of the opening.
Remove both cartridges.
If the carrier does not move to the center of the opening, you will need to remove the cartridges by hand.
Turn the printer off and remove the power supply cable (the small circular one) from the back of the printer.
Open the front cover of the printer.
Inside the printer, locate the silver metal carrier bar on which the print carriage slides.
Locate the black rubber carrier belt above the carrier bar. This belt has tracks on its inner portion.
Grab the top portion of the belt and move it toward the right. As you move this, the ink cartridge carrier will move to the left. Continue to move the belt until the carrier is in the center of the opening.
Now pull both cartridges out.

B. To perform the self-test:
Disconnect both the power cable and the USB or parallel cable.
After one minute has passed, plug the power supply cable (the small black circular one) back in. (This step is necessary to reset the printer.)
Turn the printer off by pressing the green power button.
Hold down the grey paper feed button.
Turn the printer on by pressing the green button.
After the printer begins to feed paper, release the grey button.
Once the paper exits the printer, press the green button to turn the printer off.

If the power light blinks twelve times while no cartridges are installed, there is a problem with the printer. Please contact our Technical Support Centre for your service options. If this is a new purchase, you can also exchange the printer at the point of purchase. If the paper went through the printer as if printing was occurring, you will need to do some more testing. Continue as instructed below.

C. To test the ink cartridges:
Open the front cover and insert only the black ink cartridge. Make sure that you push it back until it snaps into place.
Close the front cover. If the light flashes twelve times, there may be a defect in the black cartridge. If not, proceed to the next step.
Turn the printer off using the green power button.
Hold down the grey paper-feed button.
Turn the printer on using the green button.
After the printer begins to feed paper, release the grey button.
Once the paper exits the printer, press the green button to turn the printer off.
If the light flashes twelve times, there may be a defect in the black cartridge. If a page came through with a black line, your black cartridge is working properly.
Now you need to take the black cartridge out and perform the same steps with the color cartridge. If the light flashes twelve times, there may be a defect in the color cartridge. If a page came through with colored lines, your color cartridge is working properly.

If one of the cartridges is causing the problem, you will need to replace that cartridge. If it is a new cartridge, please exchange it at the point of purchase, or contact our Technical Support Centre.
