3/1/14 - I am having this EXACT same issue with my Taylor Model 8756-27 (air cooled / single phase) right now! Unit was just started up for the season, worked initially, then port inside of face plate clogged with ice and product would not dispense! If anyone has any ideas of what I can adjust / check to prevent this from reoccuring, please advise!

I am having this same issue with the twist. I put the machine together around 9 am. By 5 p.m. the twist stops working and one of the orings break on the middle draw valve. I have no idea what it is doing this. I have two of the same machines, other one is working fine. After I replace the oring, I have to wait a few hours for (I guess ice that forms) thaws. I called taylor, they never call back. Any help?

First check your bladesif they are worn this situation will occur and cause the unit to run longer therefore having a frozen barrel

First check your blades if they are worn out the machine will ice up in chamber and the unit will have a hard time dispensing. Then if blades ok check your mix is it plenty or lacking sometimes customers wait to sell all ice cream not reallizing that this will affect product qualityand unit will freeze up too much giving you problems.

Clean as per this manual http://www.taylor-company.com/service/resources/op_man/8752_8756_8757op0.pdf. if mix is over beaten will create ice crystals in mix which in turn could over time clog the door make sure you have adequate mix in barrel and its not freezing solid.Make sure all orings and springs are good and properly lubed in pump.

I have a taylor ice cream machine (DQ) model 8756. new at this. getting constant beeping and no idea why. can you help?

Since you didn't report any other problems, I am going to assume the machine is working otherwise. In that case, it is usually a bad logic board. Since the left and right side logic boards are the same, you could swap the two boards and see if the issue follows the board.

Most people will order the logic board and replace it themselves, avoiding a service call.

We have reconditioned logic boards available here.

I would be happy to put a technician on the phone with you for this issue or any in the future. 1-800-879-7839

Does the taylor model 8756 put out a substantial amount more product than the 754?

Absolutely! The Taylor 754 and Taylor 794's are capable of 284 3 1/2oz. servings per side / per hour. The 8756 is capable of 426 of the same 3.5oz. servings. The 8756 packs more air into the product making it easier to freeze and reducing recovery time.

Taylor 8756-33. Which components operate in standby mode?

In standby mode, the machine just wants to keep the product refrigerated until it goes back into auto.

So, the mix cabinet needs to keep the product cool in the bottom of the machine, that requires the mix compressor and fans to run. The mix cabinet temperature is read by a thermistor probe and regulated by the (left side) logic board.

The product in the cylinders should go back to liquid form in standby, but we still have to maintain that safe food temperature, the motor and compressor will run periodically. If the machine is air-cooled a fan will run anytime the compressors run. If it is water cooled, water will flow through the machine when the compressor runs. The temperature in the freezing cylinders is read by a different thermistor probe and regulated by the logic boards.

Here is a link to all of the parts in a Taylor 8756.

Why is my taylor 8756 - 27 freezing the chocolate side and will not dspense?

This seems like it could be many things. Is the pump coming on when you try to dispense? Can you stick a thin wire up through the feed holes in the chocolate side when you try to dispense to help free the product?

Product comes out frozen after all night on standby in a 754 taylor

The same thing happened to my Taylor 8756 and it was the thermistor probe. The probe is a thin copper tube that is near the freeze cylinder. It cost me about $20 for the part and $200 for the labor to have a technician put it in. Hope this helps and good luck.

Pump loses prime causing ice cream to spit out.

If it is "spitting" you might want to check all the components from the mix container all the way up to the door where ice cream is dispensed. Check for leaking mix hoses as well as broken or clogged diaphragm (inside fitting in mix cabinet). Refer to the manual to find the diaphragm.
