I have a e402b, fridge is warm, the fan is working and there is no ice build up, could it be the sensor?

Leaking door seal, putting warm food in the freezer, or defective defrost timer or heater.

Try putting each setting on more freezer and fridge on middle setting..wait about a day..and they should be ok

if freezer gets iced up the fan designed to pass cold air from the freezer to the fridge stops working. The freezer is meant to go into a defrost mode when its trtansducer senses too much ice. If the transducer goes fault the ice builds up. Some fridges use a timer to work this out so it could be a timer fault. Talk to a service man about how much ice the freezer should have for them to sucessfully diagnose the fault. Too much ice may prevent the service man from working out if temperature sensor is working and no ice can prevent him from testing sensor. To get rid of ice you have to trun off the power to the fridge and let it melt.
BEWARE remove food to another freezer and fridge to prevent food going off or getting food poisioning

It's a circulation problem so either the fan in the back of the freezer(circulates freezer and blows cold into fridge) or the defrost element. If the element is faulty the rear ices up and air won't flow. If fan is faulty it's not blowing the cold air. Remove rear panel if no ice it's the fan if its full of ice it needs the defrost element(usually get termination sensor also depending on type) If you open the freezer door and hold in the doorswitch you should hear the fan running if its working.

One of you fans is not running and causing the compressor to eventually making your compressor overheat and eventually shut off

You may have the temp. set TOO HIGH for the freezer, set it in #2, leave the fridge setting in the mid range for now. Check after 24hrs. and adjust as necessary.

If the defrost heating element, defrost timer or evaporater fan weren't working, you'd develop a block of ice on the evaporator. Is the compressor running? If it is, it might have bad valves from the frost buildup scenario. Liquid refrigerant could have gotten to the suction valves. The sealed system should have a five year warranty. My Fisher & Paykel Model E402B Stainless Steel Fridge/Freezer has a problem. Bottom Freezer is OK but Refrigerator will not work properly, somtimes it will freeze everything now it just warm inside i have checked the the fan and the rubber holding it up has broken also the ice is frozen in the vents can you help i got someone in to fix it but he said it will cost around $600 as there might be more wrong with it, what do you suggest thanks Clare

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)
