Question about Troy Bilt Tb70ss Gas Trimmer
Was running fine stopped it to take a break went to restart pulled the cord and now its all the way out and wont retract back in any ideas how to fix it without having to tear it all apart or take it into a repair shop and pay an arm and a leg to fix not sure of the model its a friends weedeater I jerked the starter pull-cord out of my TB70SS gas trimmer. I began taking it apart and couldn't get past the centrifugal clutch. How is that removed? It needs to come off so the engine cover can be removed and the string spool re-threaded.
Take a light and look into the clutch hole
you will either need a torx or star type nut driver or a allen or hex head nut driver to fit in the hole and turn the screw ccw while holding the flywheel.
Make note where all comes off and all goes back in reverse when fixed.also after you remove the clutch housing you will be stareing at the clutch shoes next and it will have markings on which way to turn it for removal.
