Need access to voicemail on NEC DT300 series, and reset password. Previous employee held this position & no code was left behind.

you may not be able to get to the VM. You may have to reset the system and start over if the PW is not avaialble. I cannot find a way to reset only the VM password and retain the VM. You may want to contact NEC directly in case they have a way that isnt in the manual. The manual seem to indicate you need to reset the entire system. I want to reset my samsungser-7000 back to factory settings then reprogram it

You say that you want to reprogram your till and reset it to factory settings. I am assuming that you have a programming manual already. If not, you can download one here:

http://www.goodson.com.au/download/ecr/manual/user/ser7000%20program%20manual.pdf

If you are just interested in logging in as a previous employee, you can reset the code for a specific employee through P-Mode option for Employee maintenance.

To reset the till, perform a S-Mode Memory All Clear.

How do you change passwords without knowing previous passwords in order to change voicemail greeting??

Actually, even as a technician, you will never know the origonal password.
But you can get in to reset the existing password back to 0 0 0 0.

There are a couple of steps; depending on your voicemail system, voicemail's are done differently, but try this first.

got to a M7310 set
-> dial FEATURE 9 8 3
-> password: 1 0 2 0 0 0 0
-> you should now see ADMIN and under that MBOX, AA, OTHR
press MBOX
-> press CHNG
-> dial the extension of the phones that you need changed
-> you should now see PASSWORD and under it RESET, press RESET (This resets the mailbox back to 4- zero's)
-> hit the * to back up and repeat fopr all the other extensions.
-> hit RLS after all is done and voila... you have now changed those passwords to those mailboxes.

Now when the new users dial F981 at their desks, and dial 0 0 0 0 the first prompt they get is pleasde change password.

Voicemail

Log into the voice mail server and you can reset the Voice mail for each account like it was a new account or you can delete the pass word on the account and then setup form the hand set. You do need to know the password to get into the voicemail server program. I believe as default it is NEC.

How do I change the voice mail recorded message? How do I get a manual for this existing system?

IF you know the password for the mailbox then log into the voicemail by dialing the Stratagy access code, after Stratagy answers dial * , then your user ID mailbox number plus #, then your security code plus #. The User Main Menu plays, press 2 to change your greeting, the Select Greeting Menu plays, press the greeting number, the Record Menu plays, press 2 to record your greeting, Record greeting, as soon as you finish press #, the Record Greeting Menu plays, press 1 to review or 2 to re-record. Press 9 to save and return to the Select Greeting Menu and 9 again to return to the User Main Menu, hang up at this point.
