The carburetor needs cleaned. Disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. Use a Den Tek brush, (used for cleaning between teeth), to clean the small portals. This works great for this job. Make sure the small screen in carb. is free of debris. Reassemble carb. and try starting. If this still doesn't solve your problem, you will need to buy a carb. kit and replace the appropriate parts.

Craftsman weed wacker will start and run

Are you sure you have the right fuel mixture? Many of these require 2 Cycle oil to be added to the gas. If fuel is right, you may have a vacuum leak at the carb (or crack in base where it mounts to the engine). My weedwacker needed to be run on half choke for about 10 min before it got hot enough to run with choke off.

Stalls when giving gas

This symptom is usually lack of fuel to the engine, if you see bubbles in the fuel line replace all of the lines and the fuel filter (inside the tank). If there are no bubbles in the fuel lines the carburetor needs to be cleaned out or replaced.

I have a Craftsman 32cc weed trimmer, can't give gas, it stalls

Usually the diaphram is wore out. It is a relatively inexpensive part. Does it run better with a little choke? If the answer is yes chances are it's the diaphram. Also sometimes the adjustment screws can move. There are two, one for low speed, and one for high. With the engine warmed up make small movements on the screws (some are marked low, and high) in, and out adjust til the engine runs at its optimum.
Hope this helps!

It starts but in choke and when i turn it to start it turns off

Try keeping it at half choke for long enough time to completely warm up. Once you have warmed it up, put it on "run". If it still dies out, get back to FIXYA. Good luck...Lee

TB70ss will not accelerate

Change the spark plug..
Change the fuel filter..
Check the fuel line for crack/splits..
Make sure the primer ball is sealed and not succking in air while running..
If it still acts up - it might need the carb might need to be rebuilt..
If it sat for a long time - the fuel will shellac in the carb and provent it from working properly..

Good luck..

Trimmer will start , but will not run with the choke in run posit

Is this a new trimmer or one you have used in the past?
You may already know some of this stuff but you should try them all anyway.

Be sure you allow enough time for warm up.
Normally the choke has three positions, 1.starting position, 2. warm up,
3. normal operation.
You may need be trigger the throttle to keep it running for at least a minute while warming up.
If you have already done this then here are some other things to try.

First check the cutting head. Make sure that it is not binding up. This will cause the unit to stall when power is added. Second, replace or clean, (if it's a foam type), your air filter. While the air cleaner is off spray the carburetor with some carb cleaner. Before you reassemble the air cleaner off, try starting it. Do this only long enough to confirm whether or not the problem persists. If it works great If not then, next, replace your old spark plug and recheck. Also fresh gas is a good idea.

If this hasn't solved the problem your next step will be to check the fuel system. Start with the fuel filter. Most filters can be found either in the gas tank or in the fuel line. Just take a good look and check for debris collecting on the surface. Next thing will require you to disassemble the plastic shroud surrounding the motor. This will enable you to gain access to the carburetor. Check the butterfly valves, make sure they move freely when you trigger the throttle or engage the choke. If you feel comfortable working on these things you should remove the float bowl, (bottom cap of carburetor). Make sure it's clean and that the float is moving freely. If you are still having problems then it could just be worn out. Only you know how much use it has.

Please try these in steps, testing each one before moving on to the next.
Good luck!

Trimmer runs good but does not cut grass

I have had a similar problem with an edging attachment. The socket that fit onto the shaft was worn, and the shaft would just spin, creating a lot of heat right there, but very little movement, and it would completely stall when you tried to use it implement, even though the moter still ran just fine. The cure, I'm sorry to say, was to replace the implement.

Your gas cap is probably clogged with dirt. The next time you run the trimmer and it begins to stall out, loosen the gas cap, it should start to run good again. Gas cap must be able to breathe in order for gas to flow properly.

Runs fine when first start. Dosen't want to start after warmed up.

Have you checked or Changed the Fuel Filter.
It will be in the tank hooked to the fuel line. I suggest a small pair of Hemostats for this job.
