With your laptop producing to much heat, make sure the air vents on your laptop are free of dust, debris, dirt, etc.

Also even though the CPU fan doesn't run all the time, make sure it is at least turning on now and then. If the fan doesn't turn on at all after say like 15 minutes then the cpu fan might be bad and would need to be replaced.

If your fan does turn on and still overheats then its the motherboard that is bad cause its not regulating the voltage that goes thru the board. This can happen when components go bad on the motherboard. I highly doubt its the lcd screen that causes the overheating cause it doesn't produce enough power to heat up hardly at all.

Where can i find the motherboard on a del xps 1330

Consult the Dell branch for a new motherboard, but it will set you back with the same price of a new laptop. The Bios battery is the round shaped battery with the holder or simply by the connecting wire such as this12_14_2011_8_19_08_pm.jpg

Hi, I have a Dell XPS Model PP25L. Whilst using it this morning it suddenly shut down and wont restart. Have tried with and without the battery and with a different power supply. Local computer shop says...

Hi Tdenton, it must be a problem with the motherboard and the power supply connection. You can have the motherboard replaced by a dell expert technician and you can also check the manual on how to replace the motherboard from this link change motherboard. Hope this can help.

The screen on my husband xps 1330 turns to lines. The computer is just a few days over a year old. I belive that this is a common problem with this computer. Please can you let me know what can be done to...

Yes, this is a very common problem with the M1330 due to a flaw in the Nvidea graphics processor chip. It also affects laptops from several other manufacturers, including some models of Apple laptops. The chip overheats and fails. Dell has supposedly extended warranty coverage by an extra year for this particular problem only. My daughter's M1330 was repaired under warranty for this issue. See here for more information: http://en.community.dell.com/blogs/direct2dell/archive/2008/09/12/nvidia-gpu-update-limited-warranty-enhancement-details.aspx

XPS 1330 screen turns black

My first guess is that your video card is starting to go bad. My second guess is the processor needs to have its heatsink reseated. If it is under warranty I would have dell repair it so you don't incur the charge of a new video card.

No response when i turn xps on.

the monitor may have been toggled off.... usually this is a function key and another key at the same time. examine the keys for one that looks like a monitor unless you have the manual... it will tell you there how to change it.
