Question about Canon CanoScan D1250U2F Flatbed Scanner

Canoscan d1250 u2f red and green lines

I have a canon canoscan d1250 u2f it worked fine for years.Recently in the preview menu only it shows some red and green or blue lines that do not display in the scanning picture. I had already uninstall and reinstalled for 2-3 times .The only thing i got is to dislay the preview page in spanish! I can not correct both
I use win xp sp2 home dition
Any help?

Got the same thing, so took it apart and low and behold, there is a piece that is broken, so I taped the mirror back in place and works now. Need to find where to order a new piece for a permenant fix though.

Normaly Red Green or Blue lines appear because of Dust in the CCD or due to electronics Failure. If this problem had happened after some SW changes then Try connecting the Scanner to a different Machine.

The only thing I could suggest is to go to the canon websote and update all the software for the 700F so that they are compatible with 10.7.3. The other thing is to check that your quicktime software is uptodate as well.

I have been using this canoscan Lide 60 for 2 years, everything was fine. but suddenly didn't work recently and told me "cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected or scanner maybe...


Not a solution, but a confirmation. My Canoscan Lide 60 is no longer recognized by the system. It seems as though it does not power up. It gets its power from the USB interface. There is no "on" switch. Are there diagnostic tools available?

My Canoscan 8000f now only produces a light green image in preview and scan mode. Have installed/uninstalled many times and this has not solved the problem. Wondering if it could be the lamp (broken?)....


I solved this problem twice with deep cleaning all the glasses and mirrors inside the machine, but not with first try.
Now, I have again the same probleme (after 1 year good working).
i'll try again ....

The I J preview is poor quality not the same as photo


Why are the areas that should be black on a photo coming out dark red. All the cartridges are working properly as I have printed a test page and recently removed the head for cleaning.
The priter is a Canon MP610

Canoscan 9950f red line on scan


Try running a calibration. This is done thorugh ScanGear in Advanced mode. Once in Advanced Mode, in the Image Settings section there should be an option for Calibration (you may have to scroll down in this section to see it). After running the calibration, try performing a preview scan with nothing on the scanner glass. If the red line shows up on the preview now, then most likely the scanner needs to be serviced.

Scanning negatives on CanoScan 600F, I get an error message "Cannot write or read. 252.0.0"


The Canon support site is the place to go for that if your Manual does not tell you.
However remove the software and reload it - it may be as simple as that.

Scanned image has a line running through it


This could be one faulty sensor pixel or a speck of dirt on the scanner bar. It might be worth opening the scanner and carefully dusting the bar with a camera cleaner aerosol.
