Hi

Please check for burnt connections or loose connections on the element. For that you'll need to remove the drum as it is at the back. Please check this link to see the connections.

Check with wiring diagram ( usually found in console area or under the dryer top panel ) for specific wire colors and terminals on the timer and selector switch. Also check for the thermal fuse and the operating thermostats right, it is right beside the motor on the fan blower housing. Safety thermostats can always be found on the heating element cage housing.

Please tell me the model number of your Unit so that i can provide you with model specific information.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

    Hi!

Please check the things as under:

Check for any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

There's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it.

Another problem may be the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

If you have an error related to heating system, that usually means that there is a fault in there.

The fact that machine works fine for few loads may significate that the problem is related to vibration>

check for a bad contact to fan and to heating element. A bad solder joint to the fan , for example will cause failure related to machine vibration, triggering the error mode only once in a while.

A faulty control board causing the same problem is quite unusual.

The element can be tested reading ohms at the terminal. The fan is tested by energizing. In this case sometimes you find out more observing visually the solder joints rather than using multimeter.

Regards.

No heat and blower doesnt blow

Hi,

If one of the two thermal fuses are blown you will not get heat. Thermal fuses blow (and are not resetable, they must be replaced) when the machine gets too hot. Often this is caused by not enough air flow through the machine. Check and make sure your exhaust vent is not clogged. Clean it the best you can to get all the lint, dead mice, bird nests, etc. out. Also make sure air is blowing out of the machine when it is turned on. If not you have a blower problem.
Turn the power off to do this. The thermal fuses are located on the element casing. They each have two wires coming out of them. They are about 3/4 inch round with screw ears on the sides so they are about 1 1/2 inch long and about an inch across. Goodluck, Dont forget to rate me as fixya..

Jan 16, 2009 | GE Profile Harmony DPGT750GC Gas Dryer

We have a GE profile harmony gas dryer that is running but is not sucking in air, blowing out air or heating up.

This dryer has two motors one is specific for the blower system I'd guess the blower motor is not functioning and the dryer will not heat due to safety features. I would check those things but also check the venting from the back of the dryer to the outside of the house to make sure there is no blocked airflow just a general maintainance. Hope this helps.

Blower doesn't blow and no heat

With these GE Harmony Profiles, the blower is the problem in same situations about 95% of the time.

First use the dryers service mode and see what trouble code you are receiving.

It's called "Field Service Mode"
1. Press the POWER key to turn the dryer on.
2. Press HELP. The main help screen is displayed.
3. Press and hold MY CYCLES and BACK simultaneously for 3 seconds. Press EXIT to return to the HOME screen.

There's a 95% chance that it is your blower and your dryer should confirm that.

I just recently replaced the blower in my GE Profile Harmony as well. While I had my dryer apart, I also cleaned the heck out of it. Excellent opportunity to take your vaccum cleaner and get all of those dust bunnies out!

I purchased the blower from www.applicancepartpros.com for about $146 S&H included.

Dryer not heating!! Harmony dpgt750ec

If you have tried all the normal fixes for the harmony dryer you might be having a problem with your blower motor. To check, remove your dryer vent and start the dryer. If you have no air moving then your blower motor has stopped. When the blower motor is not running then your dryer will not heat. This is one of a few models that have a seperate motor for the blower so most techs will miss this. Good luck to you, mca0824@aol.com
