Question about Fujitsu Siemens AMILO D-7830 Notebook
Hi there, I have just got hold of a second/third hand Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D7830 laptop. It runs perfectly off the mains but as soon as I disconnect the power lead, the computer screen goes blank and the laptop just shuts down instantly.
The battery was never, or hardly ever used by the previous owner who left the laptop plugged into the mains all the time with the battery in place. This was all known before buying, BTW so it isn't a case of the seller ripping me off. I have checked on the Control panel >> Power and the battery has a big red "X" through it with zero charge and does NOT show as charging when it is plugged in.
The obvious solution is to buy another battery but, as well as doing that, I wondered if there was some trick that I could try to breathe life into this battery.
Nope, battery can die even if always on AC power with battery installed. Time to replace the battery. sorry for the bad news.
