Toro zero turn ride on mower wont move when handles unlocked, engine starts wheels locked

the wheels should be locked if engine is not running and no input is given to control handles , now if those are correct ck to see if your drive belt has broken this is a separate belt from your pto belt (blades)

also one should not attempt to tow or move a hydrostatic drive machine if its input shaft to hydraulic pump is not turning as it could damage the drive system

most all of them have manual disconnects for this purpose located near drive wheels

check the brake make sure its disengaged
if it wasnt moved in awhile brake can stick

Clean the fins on top of motor and engine.

you most likely have a module behind your battery... it's either bad or corrosion has taken it's toll and you will also need a wire harness ... and yes, when those go bad, you can't even move those things...

try forcing the wheel to move get the ztr rear off the ground and try turning the wheel if dont but pump sqeeled you have a bad check valve or pump is going out i say bad check vale rebuild it

Replace axle or check to make sure everything is still good and greased

there is a parking brake turn it off if that still dont work check your hydrolic lines

You didn't mention if the same thing happens engauging the mower deck. If it does both, start with the carb and choke. also, check out the safety switch on the steering handles for a loose wire or a ground short. This should be fairly easy.
