I have no idea how to use my Besta USB 2.0 Card Reader to put photos onto my computer

My other camera (Olympus) came with an "Olympus Master" so have not had to use my card reader. I am buying a new camera Nikon and will be using a SD memoray card. I have no idea of how to use the card reader to put pictures onto my computer. Are there any simple instructions as I am totally ignorant. I put the driver in and it kept aborting. Should I be attaching the card reader as well? Have not bought the camera yet!!

Connect the card reader and plug the card into it. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: usb reader/ writer

Start "Disk Utility" and "repair disk permissions on all disks.  Restart the Mac and it should fix.   I don't believe one ever needs to load a driver on a Mac for any card reader.   It should work as plug and play.
Good luck.

How to upload photos from my olympus mini s camera

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Olympus master 2 disk does not load down from tray; needed is to install Olympus vr-310 camera disk in-order to move pictures from camera to computer file, say disk D or E; could you provide?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

Trying to upload some fantastic family chrissy photos. I have connected my mju410 camera with usb cord to computer but it is not recognised as connecting. Do i need a card reader? Have tried downloading a...

Olympus cameras have different USB cords and cards, xD cards are used in Olympus and Fuji cameras only. If it is not recognized via USB cable there may be a faulty cable or USB port if the camera is working. You can get a card reader as they are fairly cheap these days and take the card out and put it in the card reader to get the Chrissy photos.

Need more info, but you might be better off just to get a multi card reader for about $20 - $30.

1. Plug your multi card reader to your computer via USB port
2. push in your memory card from your camera
3. Memory card will automatically open, or you can open from "my computer" folder.

Multi card reader will come with instructions anyway.
