Question about BenQ PB6100 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Pip position My benq 6100 is projecting too high on the screen. I tried to adjust the pip position when hooked up to laptop (as this is the only time I see that specific menu option). However selecting one of the many pip postions in the menu does not result in the picture moving down, left or right. What do I need to do to activate this or is it a technical projector problem? thx.

Re: pip position

Hi there

The PIP ( picture in picture ) is only to determine where the Menu block itself will show on your screen.

Try the Vertical and Horisontal shift in the Menu Options.

This projector will run for hours if it is not hooked up to a laptop. once it hooks up to a laptop, it overheats and shuts down within minutes. we have tried switching out the video cords.

Can you try setting the brighness to a low level, and set the fan speed to high speed.
adjust the colour mode in the menu to standard not dynamic.

Hi I am Vortash .. sorry but I dont think you can , this is not a basic function and the exterior controls are just for that , PIP is a function you would use via remote at a distance therefore not a requiremnet if you are using the projectors exterior controls , I can tell you that there are numerous remotes available on Ebay and Amazon going quite cheaply if you should want to get one ... If this problem happen with a particular laptop then I suggest that you you change the setting of the laptop you are using. Go to Start=>Control Panel=>Performance and Maintenance=>Power OPtion=>Power Option Propreties=(click on Hibernation Tab and uncheck Hibernation box).
While on the Power Option check the time on the SYSTEM HIBERNATION.

Toshiba laptop won't work with new optoma projector

-toggle the laptop display using the FN keys and F5 I believe. -lower laptop resolution to 800 x 600 -look in laptop display properties for lcd or external display settings, see if it (external crt) has to be enabled on the laptop first.
