Timer does not work and no rotation

No rotation and timer no longer works. The timer problem occured first. Dryer would work but had to be stopped by turning timer dial to off position or by opening the door

HI, this is a simple fix here, simply replace the affected timer/control module. this replacement will fix the issues you have experienced.

The mechanism incorporated in the timer housing is damaged.

The selector knob on my Whirlpool LER4634JQ1 does not move, so the dryer will not turn off automatically and no "end of cycle" buzzer sounds. Do I simply replace the timer?

Your timer most likely does need to be replaced. The timer has a small motor that causes it to rotate during the cycle and those can go bad causing the timer to not advance. Unfortunately, you cannot get just that timer motor anymore. Hope this helps!

If the dial is no longer rotating, then the small clock motor has stopped working.
Check if timer works in another outlet.
Buy another timer at local store. Then when it stops working, buy another and return defective timer in new package.
Some timers offer 1/2 hour increments, others offer 15 minute intervals.
Vacation timers look very similar, but they cannot be programmed, and operate at random times.

My HB1116R TIMER STOPS RUNNING ON OFF WORKS FINE thank you in advance if i tap on housing i can hear timer starting for a few seconds

If the timer dial will not push the tripper past the on-off lever, or if dial is no longer rotating, or is rotating slow, then clock motor has gone bad.
There are no replacement clock modules for HB series timers.

You can set timer to override and plug HB into another plug-in timer
Intermatic site no longer shows HB series outdoor timers except for HB8800.

If timer dial is no longer rotating, the clock motor is bad.
There are no replacement clock motors for Intermatic/ Malibu.

Work around problem: buy cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override, and plug power pack into cheap timer.

HI. This will occur when the there are issues that concern the integrity of the timer motor. This mechanism is responsible for the rotation of the timer module. It is damaged at this time, and it must be replaced asap.

A damaged timer motor will affect the nature of the drying cycle. It is the main initiator of all functions during the selected cycle.

My maytag gas dryer timer does not turn, does not get hot, does not shut off unless I shut it, why?

HI. This will occur when the timer mechanism(timer motor assembly), becomes fused, or the motor itself has failed. The timer mech is the main initiator of all the selected cycles. If the timer is unable to rotate properly, the unit will not heat or stop as well. Replacing this defective timer module will correct this issue.

My dryer stop drying cloths also timer is not working its keep rotating unless you turn off

The timer may be the reason for the wet clothes, it may not be sending power to the heating element. I would have timer replaced. You can go to repairclinic.com to get one.

Dryer not turning off when clothes are dry (model LDE 400ACL)

Normally if you have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry, it will do it with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system. The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a "pre-set" temperature.
When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. If there is a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough. The timer advances until the interior cools, then the termostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again. This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But... if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix this problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork and make sure the vent is not compressed or kinked. If that doesn't work, then your thermostat, moisture sensor or timer could be the culprit.
