Re: camera lens

The lens motor drive has stalled seemingly due probably to a knock whilst out - they are very fragile and prone to this.
Only a return to makers for repair or replacement is an answer.

Try removing the battery/batteries and clean the contacts underneath. Also, clean the battery contacts and the charger, if so equipt. To do this, dampen a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and rub the contacts. Blow into the compartment after to clear any residue. Thanks, Dana

Lens not working

How to put the lens mechanism of the camera to its own place?
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove your battery and memory card.
3. Unscrew the screws and open the back cover of the camera.
4. Unscrew the screws of the main board.
5. Remove the lens mechanism.
6. Be careful not to touch the rear part of optic parts for protecting to the fingerprints and not to cut the wiring system.
7. Take out the lens mechanism and watch the lens roads. Is there any broken parts around there? If not it is a good news. Then go on to look carefully around the lens mechanism. Is there anything looking unusual? But if you have unusual noise that has two meanings.
a. There is a dust in the lens mechanism. Then it is very easy to fix it. In this position you should give a pressured air to clean it. And collect the camera parts together.
b. There are some broken parts in it. Then there are two solutions.
(1) Give pressured air to clean it. It is easy and does not need to change any part. Go on from 8.
(2) Lens mechanism needs to be changed. Buy new lens mechanism or find it from one of second hand and out of order cameras. Go on from 8.
8. If there is nothing looking unusual, take the lens mechanism to your hand. Then control its move while sliding it slowly and carefully.
9. Collect the camera part as you have unscrewed.
10. Install the memory card and battery.
11. Turn on the camera. Try to focus on any subject specially on the mode that you recently faced with.

Where can you buy a new lens mechanism and how much does it cost?
1. If you need to change the lens mechanism, then you can buy it from
2. Open this address and write to the search box the item number:170482444552
3. You can see the price of this item there. If it is suitable for you then buy it and change it as I said above.

I hope it is helpful.

Turn on camera, lens pops out, goes in/out focus reads lens error

If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage that is preventing it from powering up. If it hasn't been dropped your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera and give them a full charge (assuming that you are using rechargeable batteries). This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

My camera wont turn on.

If the lens is stuck inside the camera and you hear a motor noise - changing batteries will not help. This has happened because the lens barrel is jammed inside the camera. Unfortunately, you will not be able to repair that issue. If the lens is stuck outside the camera, slightly tilted, and you hear a motor noise; you might be able to save camera. First, only use good batteries (stay away from alkaline batteries - waste of money), go with Energizer Lithium or Duracell Power Pix (you will get your moneys worth and have less problems with the camera). Second, very GENTLY, pull the lens barrel up and in the opposite direction of the tilt (to make the lens barrel straight), you will hear a slight click sound - DO NOT PUSH ON THE LENS BARREL!!!. Put in the new batteries and the lens should retract.

The lens does not pop out when you turn it on. Making a clicking noise sounds like it is stuck. Turns the camera off. On the screen it says lens error115,0,0,2129

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged

battery/batteries into your camera.

2. Clean the battery contacts.

a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from

your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft,

clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.

If issue persists, call 1.800.235.6325 for repair.

Lens stuck

Here is how I fixed this problem. I grasped the lens around the base (larger part) like you would if you were going take off a beer bottle cap.

Very gently while sliding my thumb and index finger around the lens, I rocked it back and forth. DO NOT TRY TO TWIST OR PUSH,.....It felt like it "popped" back on track.

My assumption was it was probably hit from the side, and could not retract, once it was rocked back on track, it worked fine. It felt like it loosened a tiny bit as well.

Good luck.
