Question about Orion Televison & Video
Hello! I have not used my VCR for a month or so, and when I plug it in, the clock lights up but nothing else happens. I press the power button, and nothing. I use the remote and nothing. I have a tape still in there too, so I cant even remove it because the power just wont come on.
One of the voltages in the power supply has gone bad. These unts have multiple voltage levels out of the power supply and one of those has developed a problem. In a case like this it is best to try and find parts on ebay and swap them in. In some cases soldering is required to replace the power supply so the repair is above the novice level. You can take it to a repair shop or if you just want the tape out-remove the top cover and spin the motor or the gears that spin when the tape ejects untill the tape is pulled back into the cartridge and forced out the front. - the bad news is that your repair is more of a replacement scenerio. buy a used vcr unit and repalce the vhs tape. Back up and running :) good luck. Dan
