Oven will not get out of the self-cleaning mode

For some reason my oven will not get out of the self-cleaning mode. Is there some way to reset the stove in order to use the oven? My stove is a GE True Temp XL44, Model #JGBP30WEA1WW. Thank you for your help.

Ok, unplug the unit for 5 minutes to reset the main circuit board. if the error continues to plague the unit, replace the control board.

GE wall oven JK3800SHSS. Started clicking loudly during last 5 mins of Self-Clean. Ongoing clicking and running fan. How do I diagnose/fix this?

what was the error code?you should never self clean your oven before any big holidays, for reasons like this, if it takes out a part the part most likely will have to be ordered and the last day they take orders at my parts store is monday before thanksgiving so if it's your clock and you have to order it you might not have it for thanksgiving so hopefully you just have a bad latch assy. and you can get it fixed before the holiday, from what i've seen i will never self clean my oven,i use easy off and scrub it,the oven gets up to 1000 degrees and it damages the electronics in the oven.the clicking you hear could be the latch assy. unplug the the door and see if the hook part that locks into the door isn't jammed,i just went out tuesday to change a latch assy and that part was jammed, the rod that goes from the motor and to the door latch was hitting the metal part of the latch that bolts to the frame and i couldn't move the hook part or catch at all and the motor was clicking trying to move it,i had to lift the top of the stove, bend the body of the catch assy. so the rod could move freely and that fixed it.but using the self clean short lives the oven and it can damage the latch or the clock assy.send the error or just goggle it and it will tell you what it is.

Kenmore electric stove

Hello d_i_a_n_a18,
In order to put most ovens into the self-clean mode, there are a series of steps that must be initiated in a specific order. On most units the oven control needs to be set to bake or clean and the temp. control needs to be set to clean and the door lock mechanism must be engaged for everything to work. I would suggest that you consult the user's manual for directions for your specific model. If your manual is not available, check on line at the kenmore parts web-site and you can usually get a PDF version of your manual. Good luck.
