Panasonic dmr-ex95v - dead machine

Hi,

My DVD recorder has died. I have checked the internal fuse, which is ok, and the fan runs when the power cord is attached, but there is no display or anything! Also, there is a video cassette stuck in the machine, and I can't see a simple way to release it manually. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Stuck in self check mode

Manually pull down the front shield, then somewhat forcefully pull down the inner shield and maybe two little white pins so the tray is exposed with nothing blocking it. Have someone plug the machine in while you are holding everything out of the way and the tray should start to open. Pull your fingers out quickly so you don't block the tray from sliding out.

SOURCE: Panasonic DMR- EA18 DVD player/recorder - Remote control Problem

I figured out, unlike all the other posts, you don't have an enter button. But Instead, you would hit the 2 and OK button at the same time for a few seconds. I had the RC1 message and I did the 1 with OK and it worked. so if you have RC2, you should hit the 2 and OK. Should work!!

SOURCE: none of the buttons on the remote will work!!! dmr ex95v

Try unplugging the dvd player for 30 seconds. Try to turn unit on a couple of times without power (discharges capacitors). Plug it back up and see if that works. It's a shot in the dark, but worth trying.

Is the remote the original remote for the unit? Could try reprogramming for dvd player if it's a universal remote.

Your player and recorder are, most likely, on different codes. Press and hold ENTER and 2 on the remote for at least two seconds and you should be home and dry!

Good luck!

I have a Panasonic DVD Video Recorder model DMR-E85H manufactured in 2004. It has worked perfectly for all these years but now won't power up at all. I have checked the only fuse I could find inside...

The power supply board is the problem, one of the most common failure is the 1000uf capacitor "open" located near the power transistor that is heat sinked, value may be higher or lower with one or two caps, the second possibility is the power transistor may be open or shorted.

Power supplierd but does not start recorder no

Hello:

If the unit is competely dead, then you may of blown a fuse or the power supply has failed in the unit. If you take off the top of the unit while unpluged check the fuses near where the power cord attaches to the inside of the unit this is the power supply area, If you have indicators lit or the display is coming on then the unit may have a bad power supply or the System control board has failed. It which case its cheaper to just purchase a new unit.

My dvd player is dead.

You check the SMPS (Power Supply Section) and verify the voltages from the various terminals of the transformer accordingly check the bridge, voltage regulator, and filter circuits. If any of this parts are gone replace the appropriate parts not the all.

Panasonic DMR-E50 no power

Check the two pin power plug on the back panel.
These units have a common problem on the power board where a regulator overheats and finally blows. Sometimes even before it blows it will take out an internal fuse. If the power board is faulty the repair is easy for an engineer and not too expensive.

I had this code (f09) on my Panasonic DVD VHS recorder. After seeing that it meant overload I took the cover off to look for burnt out components. I found that an electrolytic capacitor had bulged (look up capacitor plague on wikipedia). I replaced the capacitor with one of a similar value from an old power supply and it worked fine.
