when turn on horizontal lines and ziggling. Use to get better after TV had been on for a while, but now lines there all the time, except when we play a dvd movie, so only happens when we use the TV.

    Any ideas

I have the lines fluttering on this same model - they sporadically go away after the tv has been on for a while. I have the lines without any type of input (cable, DVD, etc.), so the problem is not with input.

tvray called it, I had my tv repaired and the repair man replaced 4 small capacitors, tv good so far, he had a special tool to check capacitors while still on the board, cost 241 plus the 95$ service call, he charge about 9 dollars a capacitor.

I have the same problem, when I first turn on the tv it has the rolling picture, then after about 20 minutes or so it'll go away. I have not tried any steps to correct it but I've called the only two tv repair people in town and one guy told me he doesn't work on mitsubishi's and the other repair place does not answer, so I'm hoping that you will help me with this problem. I would appreciate some help. Thank you so much.

I found the STK392-110 on http://www.electronix.com/ be careful how you solder and always make sure you didn't bridge the pins with solder.

I had the same problem and I fixed it by changing both convergence ICs. IC number STK392-110. There's also one more problem that I have to look in to and it has to do with the reception on the TV. All I get is static even after I did a channel scan.

I read on one the solutions would be to replace the capacitors. (the rolling tv problem). So where are the capacitors in the tv and where can I order new ones? Thanks a bunch.

Check C2P05[ location on convergence board]. This is a 16volt 100Mf cap that is bad. And check out C2V29 [cap value is 16volt 22 Mf.] And still while you're at it, resolder the pins on the convergence ICs.Should fix your TV!

Hour glass cannot adjust red horizontal convergence

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

You can see some more examples and find a fix herebb0cf99.pnghttp://www.fixya.com/support/r2861467-solution_video_looking_whiteish_dull

Mitsubishi VS-5006R picture Ghosting

Since the problem corrected itself initially, it may just be poor solder connections. Try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. These are large black ICs attached to a heatsink and should be marked STKxxx. If resoldering does not resolve the problem, replace the ICs.
