How to install row attachment

I have a 5 hp Troy-Bolt Pony that I have had for the last 10 years(Second Hand from thr 1990s'0 Continues to work like a charm but this year , I want to put on the row or hill attachment because I have it and it makes the job easier..if you know how to install it.. It is probably right in front of my eyes but I cannot see any holes or brackets for it to fit on...IT is a square brachet on the rower with a pin through for assembly. I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Thanks longhorn294. It was right in front of my eyes. I had never seen one attached before and now it all makes sense. The only negative comment I have is now I have to go back to work in the garden and cannot sit in front of the computer talking to you gurus'. I appreciate the quick response.

    The once again happy Canadian

Tilt the tiller forward with the engine down and tines up. Lift up the hinged panel across the back. The hiller/furrower slides on in the middle just below the hinge. The pin slides through the corresponding hole in the frame to secure it. Dwain

The serial # of the tiller should be stamped directly above the right wheel on the transmission housing. This should give you more info to work from.

Change blades on a lawn tractor pony? troy built

just jack it up so you can get under the deck and unscrew the bolt on center of ech blade take note on how the curves of blade are angled do one at a time incase you forget but bolt back up tight and you are ready to cut if you try to resharpen the blades make sure you balance them or they will mess up the deck bearings

Pony size Troy-Bilt 30 years old\r\nQuestion; Can motor be replaced?

Yes but unless you purchase a engine with the two shafts, one for forward and one for reverse, you will lose your reverse. If you don't mind not having a reverse just go to a nearby Harbor Freight store or order on line a Greyhound 6.5 HP engine. these are Honda clones and run great they just had a sale here in Columbia Mo. and it was on sale for $99.99. I have used these on many of the Troy Bilt Horse tillers and they work great. They have metric threads and you may not be able to use your throttle cable but for the price you can't beat it.

I cannot get my oil seals of my rear tine tiller It is a Troy Bilt 5.5 hp and I got the left side off but the right side tine attachment will not budge any suggestions please

Have you tried soaking the shaft area with either PB Blaster or Deep Creep penetrating oil. Try this for a few days before trying to tackle getting the tine attachment off.

I need to replace the seals on my Troy-Built Pony tiller. 6 hp, ser.# 121811201149. I can not seem to remove the tine shafts. I have pulled the bolt thru the shaft but cannot budge it. Does anyone know...

I presume you opened the port and removed the grade 8 placement bolt? If you have then you need to polish the shafts with 400 then 800 sandpaper, clean then lube them before trying to slide thru the support bearings. If your tine shaft is bent? your screwed, or just remove the shaft seals with a screwdriver and replacing them without removing the shaft. REmember to put a thin coat od RTV arround the outer lip to help make a better seal

What year Troy Built Horse Tiller

The serial number is stamped on the upper right hand side of the gear housing. It is on a flat spot just above the wheel shaft. If it is a newer model it will be on a white sticker on top of the gear housing plate. If it has the T handle it is probably an older 1980's model. If you find the six digit number I can give you the year it was made.

Pony only runs with chocke 98% closed

Most likely the carburetor jet is still clogged after sitting for years with fuel in it. Putting injector/carb cleaner in the fuel tank may help, but if not, the jet needs to be soaked some more -- or replaced.

Follow mixing proportions on the label for injector cleaner.

Troy bilt pony left side tine assembly fell off

sounds like the shaft is either bent,or the inside diameter is worn and the shaft tube needs to be replaced.
