HOW MANY BATTERIES GO IN THE MAXON MODEL # 27KC? WHAT ARE THE TWO POST ON EACH SIDE WITH BATTERY THEY ARE BLACK AND HAVE WIRES GOING THROUGH THEM
KC27 Maxon CB need 10 batterys rechargables 1.2 v for 12v total, use the most amperes or miliamperes possible, if you have a charger case or 27-CRDL Cradle for 27-KC you can use 13.8v regulated 5 amps. máx. but need external antenna. When you put a radio in charger case it switch to use external mic, voltage, antenna & speaker. Actually 2500 mAh "AA" battery is very common and cheap. You can charge batterys on to radio case, only need a 200 mAh eliminator at 15v for 6 hours.
what was commented above is correct, and explains it well, Part of the question however, refers to the 2 round things in with batteries. When you use rechargeable batteries, you do not need these, as nicads as stated above are 1.2volt X 10 = 12volt ... but when you use non-chargeable batteries such as alkaline, you need to use both of these items (and only 8 batteries). One of them has a diode that will not allow the non-chargeable batteries to be charged as this could ruin them and even cause them to explode, overheat, etc, and the other is a dummy so that when you use alkaline, they are 1.5volt X 8 = 12volts. You only want to use 8 of the alkalines not 10. Hope this helps explain further on this question.
