Your issue is most likely a faulty speed control. The part is integral
to the remote receiver in the fan housing. You can purchase spare parts
for this fan through Home Depot (Hampton Bay) Service at 800-654-0688.
The fan unit itself is manufactured by AirCool 800-896-4908

In the ceiling, do you have two conductors or three conductors? (black/white/ground or black/red/white/ground)
Presuming you connected the black wire to the light (fan) and the red wire to the fan (light) and the white to the white and the green to the ground - I owuld suggest yo loof for a switch on the device and see if that is turned on. There shuld be two fan controls on the device ... speed and direction.
If you have only black and white in the ceiling, the light and the fan should both be connected to the black wire.
Here is your response in under 240 seconds.

Sounds like an excellent idea. In case you don't get a certain reply, i suggest that you remove a blade from your old fan and take it with you to a store that has one on display. Check the spacing of the holes, and the number of blades. You might also find that the width of the blades and their pitch (which is determined by the bracket the blades are attached to) work out in combination to give you about the same performance. But if the bigger fan has a much flatter pitch, you might find it won't deliver as much air as your old fan did with the old blades. Good luck, Al K
