Optical drive cant recognise by the system

Am using HP pavilion dv 6602. Last due to some problem, my system couldn't start. then i use the factory recovery manager to restore the system. while it formatting at the initial stage by unknowingly i removed the plug and it off due to very low battery.

Then i started it again and using the recovery manger i restored. but the problem is system cant detect my optical drive but the power comes to it. optical drive not detected in the bios set up too. I dismantled and use it in another system it working good.

Your problem is that your system does not see the optical drive, simply because it was not programmed by the recovery manager to do so. When the plug was pulled, the loss of continuity caused that you have lost the driver for the cd/dvd drive. Now you need to erase everything and begin by installing the system and then the drivers. Don't feel bad because I have done the same mistake with my HP nx9420 laptop. The way I fixed it is that I called HP Tech. Support and asked for a System disk and a Drivers disk. If they ask you what happened to the ones that came from the seller, tell them that you never received any (which is most likely the truth). You are not cheating anyone. They have these disks by the million and they give them away free. You install the System disk first and you will have everything working. If I am not mistaken you will also have your optical drive working, if not it will work after all the drivers are installed. Please, keep in touch with me and when you have the disks, I can walk you through the process. For that I give you my e-mail <arzobconst@yahoo.com> 7862340692. The whole procedure is totally free. We thank you very much for considering our service...

Ze4365us will not boot from cd

If your laptop will not recognise any cd or dvd that you put into it - a music or movie dvd- it's probably the actual dvd drive at fault. It means that you will have to replace the optical drive for your computer model. This is quite easy to do.

Before buying a new optical drive, try a last-throw solution. Remove the optical drive and power up the computer. Then switch it off. Refit the optical drive and power up the computer, which may detect the refitted optical drive.

However, if you mean that your laptop will recognise the information on a dvd - such as a Windows operating system - but won't boot up from it when you restart the computer it's probably because the computer is set up to set up to boot from the hard drive first.

To change the boot-up order press either DEL of F2 at start up. Go into the bios settings and look for 'boot up sequence'. You'll be able to change the first boot to dvd or usb.

I have a hp pavilion dv 1659 us (dv 1000) the sata drive goes bad

It will recognize the new drive if you were able to "migrate" your data from the old drive. If not, you can clean install by booting from an optical drive (changing your boot order at start-up) and using a new OS disk or your recovery disks. You might be able to perform a remote partition & format and install from one drive to the other with USB external enclosures for each drive and another computer (depending on the 100G drive's condition). I hope this helps.

Do you have the recovery disks that came with your computer?
If so:

To reinstall applications from discs:

If windows still boots ( and the original hard drive is still in the computer) you can click the start button and find the HP Recovery Manager under the All Programs list. It is probably tucked away under one of the HP tabs.

If windows doesn't boot, and you still have the original hard drive you can press F11 when your first turn it on at the HP logo screen. It should start the recovery program. (The F key can be different on different laptops but most recent HP's are F11)

Be careful, doing a System Restore will erase all your Data, so backup anything important!
