Question about Voyetra Turtle Beach Turtle Beach Montego II Home Studio Sound Card

1 Answer

Older PC Upgraded to Windows XP

I have a Dell XPT750 ( years old) that I'm going to use for music & email. It has a Turtle Beach Montego 2 sound card. Windows XP picked up the Aureal AU8830 chipset and loaded those drivers. The card works but because the software that came with the card is not compatible with XP, I've lost most of the functionality of the sound board.
Question : Has XP compatible software been released that will work with this card?

If you have installed the Turtle Beach software. find the programs you installed. Right-click on them ona at a time and select Properties. In the compatability tab click "Run this program in compatability mode for:" and choose the "Windows 95" option. This method works most of the time for me. Give it a try.

According to Microsoft, Sound Blaster 1040 fully compatible with Win 7 and does not need any extra software. Use Windows 7 Update and check for updates, under optional as well.

To test the headset, connect it to your PC and listen to some music. Use the green plug and USB. If both speakers work and it sounds fine, then there's nothing wrong with the headset.

This sounds like a faulty Talkback Cable (puck), you can buy a replacement on the Turtle Beach website or email their support about getting a replacement.

My microphone for my turtbleach dosn't work on my pc why?

Yeah, the pink, green, and usb cables are the only ones that need to be plugged in... the only problem I can think of is that you have plugged the usb cable into a usb hub instead of a usb port...

(haha and Im sure your not this forgetful, but you may want to check if you have the mic muted)

good luck and I hope this helped somehow
