Question about JVC HD-52G786 52" Rear Projection HDTV
When i turn in on the power light turns on blue for a min. But the tv wont turn on. The lamp program light blinks red three or four times. I bought a new lamp and installed it but that didnt fix the problem can anyone help thanks. I have exactly the same problem with my TV. Same make and model. Changed the bulb. Did not fix. The "power" light comes on briefly, and then the "Program/Lamp" light starts to blink. Last time this happened it just needed a new bulb. Not this time. Could it be something to do with the cooling fan?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

when both the blue light and red light are blinking it means 1 of 3 things. 1. lamp replacement. This often works everytime for the repair. TIP!!! DO NOT USE ANY OTHER LAMPS OTHER THAN JVC AUTHENTIC LAMPS. ANY OTHERS AND YOU RISK DAMAGING YOUR TV FURTHER. 2. the fans are not working properly or need to be replaced. They need to be cleaned every so often and they will stop working from burn-out if not done so. This repair will cost you less than 100 dollars. 3. The ballasts are defective and need to be replaced. The ballasts themselves run about 150 dollars. I tell you I have fixed this TV more times than I care to count, not to mention the number of lamps I have gone through. The guy at the TV repair place now knows me by name when i come to buy lamps. :(

It normally means the lamp is in need of being replaced, and its all depending on the use of the TV as well as how long the lamp life is. You should be able to access the lamp via a small section near the rear or the back of the TV unit, if the lamp is blown or faulty it will look the same as a blown light globe.
To obtain a new lamp contact the brands authorised repair agent as they will be able to get trade prices and in turn, give you the best price,
Also make sure that whoever replaces the lamp resets the lamp use time as the TV will still not start if you don't reset the lamp use time as it will still think it has a faulty lamp. I hope this helps, good luck.
