Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
I've had a pavilion dv9000 for 6 months. I recently put in a cd in the internal player and it did not read it. It is not the cd. I've tried others as well as ones I recently played that same evening. Now, when I start the computer it rattles a little like five or six consecutive clicks. At first I went to the drive and opened it. It just ejected the cd. I restarted and now it doesn't even show the drive but still rattles for a moment when starting and when inserting the cd.
Sounds like a bad cdrom... if the BIOS / CMOS doesn't pick it up during post, need to make sure it is seated good. Otherwise, just replace it.
