there is no polarity in ac current as ac means alternating current and that means alternating between positive to negative back to positive back to negative and so on
only dc ( direct current ) and the center pin of the plug is designated as the positive pole has polarity, the outer case being the negative
OR Are you asking the voltage of the ac adapter and the voltage of the dc output side of the adapter

Unplug the AC adapter (Charger) from power. Unplug the AC adapter from the laptop.
Remove the Battery.

Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a count of 10 seconds.
(And I mean 10. Count, 1001,..1002,..1003,..etc)

Reinstall the Battery. Plug the AC adapter back in. Plug the AC adapter into power.

(ALWAYS plug the AC adapter into the laptop FIRST, then plug the AC adapter into power.
Why?
To avoid a voltage spike at the laptop)

WAIT 1 minute, turn the laptop on.

Still no?

Then the AC adapter needs to be checked, to see if it is putting out the correct voltage.

The original AC acpater is rated at 12VDC 300mA output. It is unregulated (i.e. the output voltage is about 16-17V with no load)
The centre pin is NEGATIVE, which is the opposite of "most" AC adapters.
(Acculab model number is 41-12-300D, for the 120V 60Hz version)

Unforturnatly you cannot just glue back on the pin from your ac adapter.

but you can buy just the "brick" part of the ac adapter and should be less than $80.00 for the complete set.

barrel pin 12v 500Ma is correct. the only other required stat that you need to know is that the polarity is( ---------that's how the inside pin polarity is shown on the transformer. Go to any radio Shack, and they have this charger in stock. tell them you need a 120v. a/c input, 12v. DC 500 ma output, with the center (inside) pin positive( ).It should be less than $20.00

Power Plus Online sell a replacement ac adapter 'PSU 1' at www.power-plus.tv we purchased one recently for £29.95 and this works fine.
