tech4222 has the right answer. I downloaded DirectX onto my desktop and it never activated. When I shut the system down and restarted is when this problem started.

Now I can't get to any screen to set the driver back to the default system driver -

Is the screen really blank, or is it blank with a little blinking cursor at the top left?

This could be a video card problem. Can you hear the Hard Drive working and/or see the Hard Drive light flashing? If so your OS is loading but the video card is failing. Check your cmos settings and try unplugging the monitor cable from the video card and plugging it back in. If you have another card swap it out.

Do you know how to get into Safe Mode? as the pc is booting up hold down the F8 key, It will bring you to an option to go into Safe Mode with Networking. This will load the basic drivers to allow you to fix the video problem. Hope this helps.

Yes, I think your memory is the problem, it's crash
it is hardware problem, not system

Hi

It seems that you need to use the latest driver for the graphic card.

You can do that through visiting the manufacture's website, choose your laptop model, OS, look for video (vga) driver, and download it.

Try to do this: Just before the Windows start up screen (after the bios loading) press F8 and log in at safe mode settings. If at this mode you can see your screen change the resolution settings at a lower set. Save and reboot normally. Now try step by step to increase your resolution. In case of a blank screen appears at a new setting, don't do anything; after some seconds the monitor will come back to the previous settings. Save and go on.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

Screen goes blank

Try to load to safemode by restarting the pc and hitting F8 before loading the windows, after you load to safemode right click on desktop screen and hit properties and check if you change the size of screen?or the setting there? also look for the device manager of your vedio card and check if it works properly.
If all this not working this means your vga converter has problem this is card inside your laptop mostly happen with dell laptops, if you donot want to change it now, try to see if you have external screen port and connect your laptop to external screen.
Let me know wat happen?

What's wrong with my computer

Yes. You have a very sick VGA card in your computer. Get it replaced. The reason it runs okay in safe mode is because full potent driver and graphics don't load in safe mode to aggravate the card's illness. When the driver fully loads in normal mode, the card freaks out.

Good luck
