Thinkpad T30 2366: Passwords dsabled after I changed the battery

I just changed the (button) battery on my ThinkPad T30. When I turned on PC (after changed date/time setting as instructed), It can not be rebooted; it says "Operating System Not Found". I remembered I have password protection set for HDD and/orpower-on (I don't remmenber exactly) . I checked the password settings in BIOS setting setups and found all passwords are disabled. What should I do? Thanks a lot for your help.

Neeed lenovo thinkpad x60s bios' password

A bios password is set by the administrator. If this is not your computer, then there is no help for you. A bios password is not default information. You can disable most bios passwords however by either removing the CMOS battery or changing out the jumper(advanced knowledge to do this) but I will not divulge such information as I'm assuming this is not your computer.

I want to remove bios password from IBM thinkpad t41

It is difficult to remove the Power On and BIOS password because the passwords are stored on an EEPROM chip.
For instructions on how to remove these passwords go to this link.

How do i get into bios on a ibm thinkpad 1800/R52? seems like it needs a password. all i want to do is reinstall windows and i cant boot from cd

helo

go to the link below to get further assistance
but basically to reset the password, follow these steps.

If the Power-on password (POP) is forgotten and the Supervisor password is known, simply go into the ThinkPad BIOS setup utility and reset the Power-on password, otherwise try the following:
  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Remove the battery pack.
  3. Remove the backup battery (CMOS battery --size of coin- located on mainboard, requires you to remove the plastic cover on rear on computer)
  4. Turn on the computer and wait until the POST ends. After the POST ends, the password prompt does not appear. The POP has been removed.
  5. Reinstall the backup battery and the battery pack.
Note: Some ThinkPad systems have the ability to reset the Power-on passwords in the ThinkPad BIOS setup utility if a Supervisor password has been set.

Thinkpad r50

The Power On Password problem is near impossible to crack. It is designed to prevent unauthorized access to the Thinkpad and removing the BIOS battery will not remove the password because the password is stored on an EEPROM chip.
There are no backdoor passwords available, the only option is to ask the person who set the password.
OR
There is a way to hack into the Thinkpad to see and remove the password but it requires electronic skills, a program and a working computer.
For details on how to do this go to :-
